Leash Coupler - Need Help?

As a Mommie to an only child furbaby, I need help with using a Coupler. Going on vacation soon & my daughter is taking her furbaby. Would love to use a Coupler for both. I found this that I have. Is it used as a Coupler? If so, HOW?? :rolleyes: lol

I've seen the ones that have the hook attachments on each end, but have no idea how this one works.

Help me out pls.:p

ps...I would Loooove to have 1/2 doz yorkies

Sorry that I can't help you, but that is so weird you posted this. I got Princess a new leash yesterday & it came with one of those & I've been wondering what it is!

Hope someone can help both of us...:rolleyes:

I think those are the extra attachments that usually come with Flexi leads. I haven't bought a Flexi in a long time since I found out how dangerous they can be, so I could be remembering wrong too! :rolleyes: I never used it since I believe it's something that goes around the dog's neck in case the collar breaks and we always attached to a harness...I could be way off here. :confused:

I should add that a coupler typically has a d-ring at the "point" on the V shape which attaches to the leash and each end of the V shape has a clip to attach to the dog. My favorite coupler is by Wacky Walkr.

Thanks! :) By the way, we were in Petsmart this afternoon and I saw the basic nylon black couplers for smaller dogs for $10. If it's more like a one time thing or the pups have never been on a coupler together, you might want to test it out before you invest too much in the nicer leather ones or something like the Walky Walk'rs. The biggest issue with couplers is if both dogs don't walk the same speed/one is a puller.

:thumbup: The safety collar, that's what it looks like to me also.

I bought a coupler and tried using it, honestly though, it's easier for me to walk them with out a coupler than with one. I walk up to 4 dogs on separate leads and rarely have a problem with twisted leads.

Oh, please share your secret! I just walk Carmel and Emma and I get twisted leads...I have walked three before and it was a mess!

It probably helps that mine are so used to walking together and don't weave around each other too much. I just hold the leads the way we were taught in obedience school, using both hands. The ends (handles) of the leads are held in my right hand (I'm right-handed) and then across my body to my left side. I'm also holding the leads with my left hand about 15" or so down from the handles.

It looks like a collar to me. Kinda like how a choker collar works.

I bought a coupler at Petsmart that I use. I love using a coupler as it just so much easier only having one leash in hand as opposed to several. Plus it keeps all the dogs at an even pace, no one can run ahead ahead of the other, they have to learn to work together.

If I were you I would get one from Cindy (Chattiesmom). She can make them in any color, they are light weight and you can do two, three, etc. I wish I would have gotten mine from her but it was an unexpected trip and I needed a coupler right then. I find that the couplers sold in stores have such big leash clips making them a bit bulky for such a small dog.

I love this person's coupler/triplers: 3 DOG COUPLER LEASH 3/8"X 5' NYLON SWIVEL SNAP EACH END - eBay (item 130397765478 end time May-29-11 21:48:22 PDT)

See how there is swiveling action at both the top and bottom (at the upper main swivel, the upper clip swivel, and the lower clip swivel)? That really helps w/ tangling rather than if there was only one spot of swiveling.
