What kind of stroller do you have? I would like to get a stroller for Tallulah -- but there are so many choices out there. I'm thinking one of the three-wheeled strollers would be easier to navigate. Longish handles are important - my back is already bad enough, I don't need to be leaning over to hold on to the handles. Would those of you who have strollers be kind enough to talk about what you have, its pros and cons? |
We have a PetGear travel system stroller: PetGear Inc I think it's a great stroller! We use it a lot when Layla's on crate rest because we can move her around and the compartment comes right off the stroller base so we can carry her around in it, and it also has a seatbelt strap for the car! We've used it on gravel, dirt paths, golf courses (lol), snow, and have had no issues with how it handles. The back wheels lock as well if we don't want her rolling away :) It also has a little adjustable leash inside to hook to her harness when she's wearing one, so she doesn't jump out. The only con I think is that she can't put her head up fully if she's sitting inside, but we leave both mesh compartments open and she sticks her head out anyway :) |
I have the 'happy trails' also from pet gear. I have had it for a few years and like it. After looking at the one that Layla has I wish that one had been available when I got mine. It would be so nice to have one that did dual duty like the travel system stroller. makes me want to sell mine and get that one!! |
I have this stroller: Pet Gear Happy Trails Blue Pet Stroller for cats and dogs with free shipping It was a gift, I didn't pick it out- I honestly don't use it enough to justify the expense of buying one myself. The pros of this one are that it is big inside- it has fit three dogs before just fine- they all have room to lay down and move around. I also like having the space underneath- I use to take the dogs outlet shopping with me in the stroller and it was nice having the space to put bags and stuff. The cons are that it is pretty heavy and takes up a lot of space- I have seen the new lightweight versions of these in the store and would probably get that one next time if I was buying my own, especially if it was just going to be for one or two small dogs (as the lighweight one is also smaller). I also don't like the mesh opening on top- the sun beats in there- I usually end up covering it with a small blanket- the whole front and back are mesh, so there is still plenty of ventilation and space for them to see out- the top is pretty useless anyway, since its not like they are going to be looking out that hole. Here is the lightweight version I was talking about Pet Gear Travel Lite Pet Stroller, Dog Stroller, and Cat Stroller with free shipping I don't know how either one of these would be navigating harsh terrain or anything but they navigated around the outlet centers well! |
I have the same one that ArmaniMan has. I have had it for going on 4 years. My girls love it. I have never used the rain guard. So I can not comment on it. I love the stroller. It is easy to open, close, push, and the handle is long enough to walk with out bending over. The only problem is Jackie and Sadie always sits close to the front. If they are not harnessed in and I hit a bump they can fall out. But that is my girls. I would recommend it. I saw them on CSNstores about 2 weeks ago for $35.00 in the clearance dept. I was going to get another one, but I have already purchased 4 car seats and now I have more car seats than dogs.LOL hum, that could be a good thing. |
Antone looking for a stroller..... CSNstores (clearance Dept) has a pet gear Roadster pink stroller for $68.00 regular price is $169.00 they only have 1 get it quick free shipping |
We just use a regular child's umbrella stroller for our two girls and they love it. |
We have a Pet Gear ALL terrain stroller. It is a larger stroller but has good wheels and is easy to push... even on uneven pavement!! (some have such small wheels and are hard to steer). It is WELL WORTH the $$.... we use ours for everything. Camping, festivals, picnics, longwalks, shopping............ it even can be pushed over grass easily!! |
I have two strollers. I have the Happy Trails Pet Gear in blue, which I find easy to manage I crowded places. And then, I have the Petzip, which is a 3 wheeler that I like to take when we RV, because it is easy to maneuver on campground streets. Petzip A701 Luxury Monogram Jogging Dog Stroller for cats and dogs with free shipping |
Thanks for all the info. I didn't know about CSNStores -- now I have some surfing to do. For those who have used both the three-wheeled type and the four-wheeled type, do you notice any difference in the ease of handling? |

Betty, let me know which stroller you pick i can try getting you a better price. csn is good but their prices are so ridiculous sometime |
If you use csn stores CLEARANCE dept. Which I have used many times. You save alot of money. Last week they had the 3 wheeled pet gear all terrain stroller for 49.00. I think that is a great deal myself. I have purchased many items from the clearance dept. Items people purchased and did not want, Did not like the color ect. So they can not charge full price. I even got a berkline wall hugger rocker/ recliner Regular price $799.00 I paid $149.00. It was still in the original box. I have purchased 3 pet gear car booster seats for any where from $22.00 to $35.00 for the large one. They have some great deals. The items are not damaged. |
Where would be the best place to get a good, but inexpensive stroller?? Bitsy loves to go outside, she does not do well at all on a leash:( And with the rough time I'm having right now I really can't afford a very expensive one. I hate feeling like I'm keeping her cooped up inside:( |
