Tangled Hair - What a mess!! My little Gabby is solid white and beautiful. Her hair is very fine and thin and I cannot keep her from getting matted. I brush her everyday, which is extremely hard because she has very tender skin and bites at me the whole time. I am going to have to get her cut very short, but I need to know what is a good shampoo and conditioner to use on her so we both don't dread the comb. |
My favorites are Biogroom Oatmeal shampoo and Silk Creme Rinse, and Coat Handler. I use a little PetSilk Silk Serum to pull apart mats before a bath. |

Brushing the hair isn't enough, you have to follow by using a comb close to the skin, otherwise, you might miss a slight tangle that turns into a mat. I used Cowboy Magic on Joey when he was a puppy, when he was more prone to matting, especially under the arm, or front legs as some people say. :D I used it before a bath to make sure all tangles were out before I got him wet. |

[QUOTE=caw;3423031]Exactly!! You know, I remember getting burrs out of my horse's tail using...of all things....Formula 44...it worked like "magic"! I wonder if a little bit of baby oil would work? |

I'm glad Daisy's hair doesn't matt very easily either. It's enough just to brush her teeth everyday, hair everyday, bathe her every week, trim her nails every week, trim her ear hair every month and her dock area every month, clean her eyes everyday, fret over what conditioner I use on her, fret over what shampoo I use, and fret over what I use to brush her coat out with daily.....what a little hot house flower!!! I didn't realize she was gonna be my new hobby! Good thing I love her to pieces and that I'm truly an animal person. |

I would recommend using pet silk serum, brushing her on a regular basis and using the pet silk moisturizing shampoo and conditioner |
I have used a few different products on Beamer Then on Gail (Gemy)'s recommendation I got the Isle of Dogs shampoo and conditioner and the Royal Jelly supplement. I am so glad she recommended it. Even the groomer is impressed with it. The groomer comes once a week and I usually brush and comb Beamer every day as he gets tangles. But since using the Isle of Dogs I have missed some days brushing and combing him. In fact I missed the whole week last week (Thursday to this Wednesday - groomer comes on Wednesday), and he was hardly tangled. Groomer is really impressed with the Isle of Dogs. If Beamer gets one of those spur things in him they just slide right out now. I just splurged and bought the Isle of Dogs conditioning mist as well. I can really recommend it. |
