Suggestions for a Sling Hello everyone. I need some suggestions for a sling. My baby loves for my to carry her around and it's pretty hard to do when I need to do chores, etc. So I decided a sling would be nice. I have 2 Kwigy-Bo bags, but those don't sit very well while doing chores. ;) I am not looking for something that's really expensive. It would be for just around the house. I looked at the one from the Eastside Collection. It's about $24 on Amazon. Does anyone have an experience using it? Thanks in advance for your help. ;) |
1 Attachment(s) I have the Outward Hound sling and I LOVE it. It is great for shopping downtown and you don't want to carry your KB bag. Both of mine love riding in it, and it is very lightweight. http://www.petsmart.com/product/inde...:referralID=NA |
Sling is a fantastic idea. I use it all the time. You can also try some slings for human babies. They are the same and much cheaper. |
You can find free instructions online to sew your own baby sling. If you don't sew maybe a friend or relative could make one for you. There is actually only one seam to sew if you use fleece or a material that wont unravel. I have made three, a fleece one, a cotton one , and a knit one. I absolutely love mine. I use them around the house sometimes, but more often when we go out. Pistol has gone hiking in one, to a parade, to an auto show, tons of places. He stays comfy, and both my hands are free. You can google " make a baby sling" and get quite a few hits. They are easy to make. |
I was thinking of doing the same thing (: let me know how you like your sling |
:) When we first brought Toto home, she was barely 1 1/2 lbs. at a little over 16 weeks. She, also, wanted to be in my arms all the time. I had the "genius" idea that a sling would be great. Since I only needed it to free up both my hands, Patrick picked up one of those made for humans with a broken arm. It worked beautifully ... until ... I was cleaning one of our toilets with Toto happily sleeping in her sling, leaned over & yep, she almost slid out the end right into the toilet! :sidesplt: The thought never occured to me that maybe the end needed to be sewed up. I felt so stupid! To answer your question, yes, a sling works beautifully. Toto loved napping in hers. Good luck!:thumbup: |
