Petgear vs Snoozer - Pros? Cons?
 
Hi there everyone!
I have one car seat and will be purchasing another SOON (maybe today). I have a Snoozer Lookout that is wonderful... but thinking about getting a Pet gear Lookout this time around...... does anyone have any pro's or con's with either of these? The cost for a Pet gear is a little less..... and if they are as good, why not get one at a lesser price..... but i don't want to go cheaper for Cheaper if you know what I mean.... Any tips anyone? Thanks!

I have the PetGear and I like that it is firm enough for my guys to "stand" on and look out the windows. However, I need a second seat and I am thinking about buying the Snoozer because it looks so soft and comfy, better for relaxing. (Capt Noonie sells Snoozer if you are interested)

I have a PetGear seat, but I was just reading another thread and thinking the SAME thing :D I just had the Snoozer website up -- haha!! The PetGear seat is nice, but the Snoozer one does look really cozy for traveling.

I also have the Snoozer console seat and the bike basket. The console seat was a little hard to install, but I love it. Both Snoozer and PetGear make really great products.

I think overall it would come down to comfort. But you can easily rectify that with a nice blanket. I have both a console seat and the pet gear. I actually think the pet gear is better because it is easier to move to a different car, to store and takes less space.

I have the snoozer and Trixie is very comfortable in it. I bring it in the house after we are done with it and she uses it as a doggie bed in the den. I personally think she likes it better in the house than in the car....she tends to whine in the car :rolleyes:

I had a Petgear and returned it. The strap was connected to the seat itself (whereas the Snoozer is on the seatbelt of the car) and it seemed not all that sturdy -- it also just seemed 'cheaper' in general. The Snoozer just seems sturdier and more comfortable. Also, Jackson did not like sitting on the Pet Gear (though I only had it for 2 days) but he loves the Snoozer.

I am leaning towards the snoozer again, we like the one that we have.... the difference in price isn't too bad, as the snoozer has free shipping. I think that they are both very safe seats, but my luck would be getting something different from the one we have and having dogs all trying to get into the same one! ..... You know how Yorkies are!

Can I ask what one you are thinking about? Which style? I looked at the website and got all confused...LOL thanks hugs

I have the Pet Gear Heated seat and both my girls love it! and it keeps there furbutts nice and toasty!:D

We already have the Luxury Lookout II Medium (oversized) one now. Both Shelby & Seymour ride in it. The Luxury ones are totally microfiber and also have a microfiber covered pillow - not the fleece. I think it is probably cooler in the summer. There is a I & a II... I does not have a drawer underneath & II does have a drawer. There are different sizes: console, a small, a medium (oversized), and a Large-My Buddy. Shelby & Seymour are both about 8 pounds and fit in the Medium oversized together.... (of course I have 3 now, so plan on getting a small size in addition to the one I already have).

I agree, the website is confusing.... but I have done my homework and hope the info helps! Hugs!

Thanks your post help alot...I guess Lexi would need the small right? She weighs around 5 lbs. So I need to look for the Luxury one in small? I think the microfiber will be much better here in florida...thanks much I really appreciate it...don't think I need the drawer. You can still put it in the front seat between the two of you (people) with the seat belt? Lexi would hate to be in the back without us...hugs

Yes, you probably can put it in the front seat, but I would be concerned about air bags...unless you can turn your air bag off... if you get in an accident, an air bag that deploys could be fatal to a little yorkie. The car seat is high enough that she would be able to see out the window which usually helps.... also much safer.

We have the Snoozer car seat and love it.

We also have the PetGear bike basket which can also be used as a car seat. We prefer the Snoozer for the car.
