Console car seat
 

I just wanted to let everyone know that I purchased a console are seat and Rowdy absolutely loves it!!! He loves being up high so that he can see out. Now, don't get me wrong, the first trip (to the bank) in the car seat was traumatic because he spent most of the time trying to get out into my lap. The car seat has a strap and hook to go on his harness, so he couldn't get out, but he wanted to. I just kept telling him "no" and the very next trip, he just sat there, like he had been sitting it in forever and looked around and he was SO CUTE!!! He was just sitting up there looking around and enjoying everything.

It is 12 inches wide on the outside and 8 inches on the inside, so it is perfect for Rowdy who is about 4 lbs. It is a little wider than my car console, but the car seat is made of foam so it just squishes in the part that goes between the seats - which makes it even more secure because it is wedged between the seats. The console in my hubby's truck is wider so the car seat fits on it perfectly.

Sometimes Rowdy wants to give me a kiss or snuggle while we are riding, but he is up next to my shoulder (I'm short) so he can lick my face (if I move toward him just a bit) or lay his head on my arm or shoulder if he wants. But really now, he just loves to sit up and look out. When we are on a long trip, he sleeps 99% of the time and now I don't have to worry about him flying around should I have to slam on my brakes as the car seat is strapped in and he is attached to the car seat.

I really didn't think he would like it, but he does and I wanted to let anyone who might be thinking about getting one that it works well for us.

Tatum has the car seat that sits on our Tahoe's console. She absolutely loves it. A few months ago, we traded our Tahoe for a new one and it took me a couple weeks to get the car seat put back in the new one. When I get home, if she's outside with the kids, she likes to jump in and sit with me. She would jump up and sit on the console and look at me like "where's my seat!!". I highly recommend that kind if your kind has the type of console it works with.

Don't remember where I originally got mine from but Tatums first one got torn up by our new puppy while it was waiting to be put into the new Tahoe so I bought one from a member here (the same kind) that couldn't use it in her vehicle. But if this is the right one, just do a search for Lookout pet car seat and you should find them in different stores - even in Ebay sometimes.

yes, that looks like it, but I got the oversized console lookout, which is 12" wide on the outside and 8" wide on the inside. I knew the 12" would be a little wide for my car and it is, but it squeezes down to fit just fine. It is just the right size for my hubby's pickup.
