Probably not - if the dog has dry skin and coat it could be due to diet, breeding, etc. What kind of food are you feeding? Is the dog scratching - might have allergies. How old? |

o btw he's eating Acana grain-free wild prairie. |
I use it. I use it full strength though. I use about a silver dollar amount. Is that too much? I love it. It smells good, leaves him feeling so soft and silky. As far as his scratching, have you made sure you thoroughly rinse the shampoo/conditioner off of him. I rinse, rinse, rinse rinse...and then rinse 2 more times. |
Joey's breeder is the one who recommended Biogroom to me, and the first time I went back for a visit she checked his skin. She said no white flakes, and that I'm doing a good job! Lol, luckily, she didn't take him back from me! I mix it with water even more than 4 to one. I put a tablespoon in a 2 cup measuring cup and mix well and pour the whole thing over him. It's really important to rinse all shampoo off their skin, as this can cause dry skin and flaking, but it's not as important to rinse every little bit of conditioner off, some people even leave a little on as "leave in" conditioner. When Joey was a puppy, I would put the cream rinse full strength under his "arm pits" because that is where he would tangle after wearing clothes, and this seemed to eliminate that. |
I use both the Fluffy puppy and the Silk conditioning creme and absolutely love it. I mix it 4:1 in a bottle. I feed Merrick and add fish oil caps for the coat daily (I pierce the capsule and squeeze out the juice onto the food) and have cured one of my furkids dry skin completely. |

I know there are a great number of people whose dogs thrive on Acana, but it didn't work for Maximo. His water intake decreased dramatically, he had trouble eliminating and his skin and hair quickly dried out. When I put him back on Fromm, everything returned to normal. He now eats Go! Grain Free Endurance and is still doing well. |
I use it on the pups and love the way they smell and feel after. I dilute it 3:1 and that seems to work best for us. |
Wow i am using WAY too much and Uni is still itching. :( |

I also use Bio-groom shampoo and conditioner and I dilute it down four parts water and one part Bio-groom product. I have been using it for over a year now and absolutely love it. Chloe had dry skin as a puppy but she never really scratched at it...just had dry flakes, like dandruff. I'm pretty convinced it was because I was using a cup to rinse her with and not getting all the shampoo out of her fur. I started using the spray nozzle on our kitchen sink to rinse her and the dry skin quickly went away. The more powerful water pressure really helps! I've also bathed her in our bathtub using a detachable shower head, like what you can buy at Walmart. -C |
