Brit, try mixing the Silk Creme in a measuring cup with warm water and just pour it over Jackson's back. Then rinse. I did this with Max and Teddy this past week and I couldn't believe the difference from when I was applying the conditioner undiluted. We massage when shampooing, but just pour and rinse the diluted Silk Creme. |

Total care Hi! I just joined so if ya'll have already made this clear, forgive me for asking again... I have a 4 year old Yorkie, Sophie. She scratches a lot, I think. I want to start this New Year off to a good start. Can you tell what shampoo, conditioner, finishing spray you use? Also, what type of food? Any additives you add to their food, Also, she has stains under her eyes, can this be "unstained"? How to avoid? |

Scratching a lot - Is this a new development, or something that has gradually developed over the years? What does her skin look like where she is scratching? Is it dry or flakey? I would try Biogroom Oatmeal Shampoo and Conditioner. The most important thing is to really really really rinse out all the shampoo. Did I stress that enough:D Also extra rinsing on those areas she is scratching. If you spend 10 minutes washing think about spending 15 minutes rinsing :p For the conditioner; leave it in a few minutes, and place extra on the itchey places. rinse out conditioner. Now you can also add some supplements to the food for dry skin. Fish oil additive is one that is often used. My conditioning sprays I use are by Isle of Dog. ISB also makes very good products; but I'm suggesting Biogroom as it is much more reasonably priced, and available in some pet stores. |

Great suggestions Kristin. Have you tried floating the coat in the diluted conditioner? I do about once per month. Here you would use a cup, to pour the solution over the dog while he stands in the solution. But there is about 4-5 minutes of wait time to let that condition really seep in. I use a hand mixer to mix the conditioner in the warm water which is in one of those portable tubs. What I like about the float a coat business, is that the paws rreally get conditioned well. Pads and hair. And also the ends or tips of the coat. |
