Help! Best clothes for not matting? My puppy mats so bad in clothes, especially at night. He gets cold at night but when I let him sleep in his sweater he wakes up with bad mats. Does anyone know if there is a material that won't mat the hair? Especially for pajamas... Thanks! Danee |
Taycie mats horribly as well.. I know alot recommend keeping the hair shorter and that seems to help. For me.. what seems to help is brushing her hair out 3 times a day. It sounds a little crazy, but I like her hair on the longer side, and she goes to work with me so I am able to do it. What helped me when I noticed she was also matting with pjs, was to brush it right before bed and then I put her jammies on. We have a nightly routine of washing her face, brushing her out and brushing her teeth. I also use baby onesies as pjs and when she wears those at night I notice hardly any mats. I also need to find a better grooming product. I use John Paul Mitchell for Pets but I am really not that impressed with it... I hope some others will chime in with their suggestions as I am open to some new ideas! |
Have the pj's made out of silk or satin. I had Cathy make two of mine satin pj's. She's really easy to work with and knows her stuff. Her store is T. Bumpkins & Co. and she's known as 107barney here on YT.;) |
Wearing any clothing will have a tendency to make yorkie hair mat but Yorkiedaze is right about the satin. Satin or silk will cause less matting than other fabrics and doesn't cause hair breakage. The dresses I used to make were always lined in silk or satin. |
thanks thanks for all your suggestions. I'm going to get some silk or sateen things and see how that goes... danee |
