Safari Pin Brush (W6141) I had to get a new brush (lost Sydney's other one). After researching, I decided not to get another slicker, but I also didn't want to spend a fortune. I ended up with the Safari small pin brush ($4 at the local pet store). The metal tips are rounded (not coated in plastic, which can cause tangles). I used it on my own head and it didn't hurt. I used it on Sydney and it worked great! She has a silky coat that I keep trimmed. She doesn't have thick hair, and she doesn't shed very much, but the brush is great for keeping away knots. |
A show breeder once recommended that brush to me, then I had another tell me the ball tips will break yorkie hair. So, even though I did buy one, I don't use it. With short coat it is probably just fine to use but possibly not with a full coated yorkie. |
I was told to stay away from the pin brushes with plastic tips in the shape of balls. Sydney's brush has rounded, metal tips, but each pin is one solid piece. It doesn't seem to pull her hair. I even used it on my own head to test it to make sure it wouldn't hurt her. I think her brush is better than mine. lol |
