Dog boots
 
So we got Tuffys' winter boots! Hooraaaay :rolleyes: Our first few practice sessions have been very comical. The little stinker tried to eat them but I think we've got that worked out now.
Karen, thanks again & I'll try to post a video later of Tuffy getting used to them.
Everyone else...check out alldogboots.com; you'll be suprised what a differance a fitted style boot makes compared to those slip on ( & OFF! LOL) slipper type dog shoes.

We got the black & brown neoprene ones...they look really nice on him (but he's still walking like a pony) :D

I hope Tuffy gets used to them soon! Some dogs take longer than others, but you are right in that a fitted pair makes a world of difference.

Kdgd14- I'm happy to give you a discount on the Leopard Print boots when you get your baby.

There is no way that my hubby would let me get Cookie and Izzy shoes!! I had to talk him into the PJ's for the baby girls!! I do like the fitted ones better though!!

Lucky you are in AL, then;) Not a whole lot of snow there.

We see a LOT of snow in the winters & last year I spent a lot of time washing Tuffys' paws each time he went outside because we travel & he often had wet cold paws :( I also used vet balm to help keep the pads from drying out.
I guess what I'm saying is this makes a WHOLE lot more sense than not having protection on his feet. It'll also allow him to be able to play a few minutes longer in the snow (which he LOVES :D )

She really does have a nice selection & the other thing I've noticed is that most (if not all) of her shoes are sold as a set of 4 instead of a pair like I've seen on another site someone posted a few weeks ago ( & better pricing too :) )

I might have to look into a set for Rylie when she's old enough to not grow out of them. :) I was just going to buy her a set you can find at Petco/Walmart, but Buffalo winters are notoriously snowy and long :P

Oh I could imagine! I went to college upstate NY for 1.5 years and it was so ridiculously cold and blizzardy (it is a word) that I actually had to transfer.

LOL yep upstate gets it pretty bad too, gotta love those Lake Effect Snows :D

Is there any particular age at which their paws stop growing? That is when I would be interested in looking into an awesome, reliable set of boots (aka yours :) ).

Sorry for the delayed response:o How old is Rylie? I really don't know the answer to your question. I'm not very sure when dogs stop growing. I would guess 1 year:confused: You could always go with an inexpensive set while she's still growing before committing to a better boot.

Rylie will be about 13 weeks when I get her in November :)

That was my plan already. I was just wondering if you happened to know whereabouts their little paws stop growing. :D I'll ask my vet approximately when they stop growing and that's when I'll be looking you and your awesome footwear up!

Ok, so the ugh is I just realized I never posted a video of Tuffy in his snow shoes.

The HOORAH is he wore them for the first time in the snow today & I'm so stinkin pleased to say his feet were DRY when we came back inside.

Wow, so Tuffy actually kept them on? I so need some for Zhoie. I have been hesitant in getting them, as we have a couple different ones and she simply can't keep them on. Her legs are like to toothpicks, skinny as all get out. I thought the pair that wraps with velcro would stay, nope, not even long enough for her to walk 5 steps.
I'm at a loss, don't know what would work for her.
I would be thrilled if Zhoie would wear them like Tuffy does. errrr

I had those too; paid a pretty penny for them from Petco & in my opinion they're worthless. Maybe for some dogs they'd be good but not our Tuffy!

The boots we got from alldogboots are the black & brown all weather ones & because they're more form fitting, they stay on so much better. I also use bag balm (also called veterinarians' balm by Sargeants) on his pads in the winter to keep them from drying out too ;)

OH!....& she's having a sale right now too!

Just wanted to let you all know that my almost 13 yr. old blind yorkie loves her new leopard print boots from AllDogBoots.com . You already know how happy I am to hear this. I honestly had no idea that the boots would give Lacey more confidence. It's truly amazing. Here's a photo of your little angel in her leopard print boots and matching coat.
