Big Celltei Bag Let Down
 

For my birthday I ordered Sydney a new backpack from Celltei. I wanted one for her that was a little taller than Celltei's base item in small. To make this modification, I had to add $50 to the price. I was okay with it. There was an $80 charge for cutting the pattern unless the bag was made-to-order. Well, the backpacks I found and really liked said they were made-to-order. Celltei contacted me and said that not only are they out of the material I found on their website, the new material is $40 more, but they would still give it to me at the price I ordered. The big let down was that I still have to add $80 to the price. The woman at Celltei said they should have used different wording for the backpacks and that they aren't the made-to-order bags under the $80 clause. So, the bag I wanted is now $260 after shipping! Too much for me to spend, unfortunately. Their regular small bags are only 11" high, which I think is too small. The large only goes up to 12.5". Syd's current bag is 14" high and it fits her great, so I ordered one of the small backpacks with a modified height.

The good news is that they are moving their entire operation to the US, including purchasing their materials. The bad news is that all of their bags are going up $50-$80 because the materials will cost more. The woman said the new pricing will be on their website after this weekend.

I have to hand it to Celltei, though, their customer service is very good. An e-mail was sent to me tonight, on a Friday, after their normal hours. I think we've got something worked out and I'm pleased. The backpack should be here in 2-3 weeks. I'll give my review and post pics when it arrives.
