Grooming Clippers for Yuriy Folks, Good day to you all the way from a lovely summer,s day here on Tenerife. Although I,ve tried to find the answer to this question on here I find that I must start my own thread to enable me decide what to get. As can probably be seen from the picture, Yuriy,s hair is kept very short on the torso, short around the head/ears and long on his legs and tail. My wife does all his grooming but now is confident enough to invest in an expensive set of clippers. Because there are no, large pet stores here, we have to do all such buying thru' family in Scotland or by internet. I mention this as we are therefor unable to feel the product, read the instructions etc etc. Because of the cost of these products being more in Europe than the U.S. (probably in excess of 230 bucks) I want to get this right as I,m fed up throwing money down the pan tbh! The ones I,ve decided fit the bill are;- Andis AGC 2 with No 10 Blade or Andis Super Two-Speed Dog Clippers both come with one size 10 blade. So a) do members recommend either of these and b) in addition what extra blade would be required. So there you have it. I look forward to hearing fromany members asap. Many thanks.:animal36 |
Hi!! I do all my own grooming and I have 6 Yorkies!!! 3 are kept in show coats, 2 are in a Schnauzer cut and 1 is in a puppy cut!! I like the Oster Golden 2 speed. It is fairly quiet and doesn't get very hot but has 2 speed for the coarser thicker hair. I don't know much about Andis, just that when I was looking for professional clippers, no one recommended them to me and the Oster name kept coming up. You need a 10 blade for close cutting, it is like surgical cutting, for butt trimming. But you should get a 40 blade so you can trim the ears and pads and so you can use the combs that come with the clippers. Good luck and Kudos to you for wanting to groom Yuriy!! |
