Need opinions.... Best carseat? I've finally decided my baby has to have a carseat since I will be driving back and forth from college (1 1/2 hrs. one way on a kind of curvy road). Any suggestions on ones you love? She's 6 lbs and it would only be for her. Here are links of the ones that I've checked into... Amazon.com: Solvit 62291 Deluxe Pet Booster Seat:... OUTWARD HOUND SMALL PET DOG CAR BOOSTER SEAT~4 COLORS~ - eBay (item 200405219848 end time Jul-10-10 08:24:39 PDT) Kurgo Rover Gear Booster Seat - Car Seats - Travel - PetSmart *my fave as far as looks* Would you prefer a booster type seat over these? Thanks for all of your help! |
I have only tried one car seat and it was OK, it has the inflatable cushion at the bottom. THe only thing i didn't like is that I have to re-inflate the cushion often, it only fits in the front seat and if you have a furbaby that likes to look out the window it isn't the best. HTH... I'm looking to buy a new one too. this is the one I have. Booster Seat |
This is the one I use - infact, I have 2 - one for each dog. Absolutely love it and think it's sooo worth the money. I have taken the covers off and washed them numerous times - no problems there. I feel like these are the sturdiest. If you have air bags... please put your baby in the back seat -or- on the console. :) http://www.snoozer-dog-beds.com/Pet%.../lkoutnice.jpg http://www.snoozer-dog-beds.com/Pet%.../lkoutnice.jpg Hmm... there should be a close up of the one I bought and the other link to the whole page. If you do a search you might be able to find them cheaper (like Petedge). |

I think this is the size that I have PetEdge: Lookout Deluxe Car Seat W/Storage for Pets All 3 of my babies fit in it comfortably for hours. You could get one similar to size in this one or get a console seat. I HIGHLY recommend the Snoozer brand. |
Thank you all so much for your help! The Snoozer brand does seem great and I think you all have talked me into one of the lookout seats!! :) Do your dogs try to jump out?? |

mine are in harnesses and strapped in while driving and in backseat as airbags can kill little dogs so I do not put in front seat due to airbags so unless you have a car that you can shut airbags off on passenger side I would put in backseat |

As for the jumping part, I keep them stapped in. I use a tripler that is connected to a strap that is connected to the seat belt. I give them enough lee-way to where they can jump out and lie next to the snoozer if they want. I don't have the "Buddy" one b/c I can't afford to give up 2 seats in my backseat now b/c of foster parenting lol so I had to settle on the regular sized one which is actually just perfect for them. Sure, they will never argue with more room, but they love to snuggle and sleep together so its funny to watch them all cuddled up! |
[QUOTE=Robin Lodal;3167532]Just noticed you are from KY - what part? I am now living near Richmond. QUOTE] I'm from Prestonsburg (about 30 miles east of Pikeville). Thank you all:thumbup:... Can your dogs see well out of them!? |
booster seat I have the solvit booster seat. while it is great, I don't think it would offer much in the way of protection in the event of a car accident. I don't think any of the booster seats would. |
Ziva (almost 6 lbs)has a Snoozer lookout- it is great, the harness and seatbelt work well together and gives her plenty of room to move around. I try to take it out of the car when we won't be using it- I'm afraid of the hot Florida sun will really be hard on the foam (I do keep it covered). I looked at the "fidorido" too, didn't look as comfortable. |
I really appreciate everyone's help... You all are truly the best!!! I've decided on the lookout seat -- can't wait to see how it works out for us... I'm sure it will be interesting to say the least! |
