I hate to do this... I ordered a Buddy Belt for my parents for their new Yorkie Ginger. The site I ordered from was wetnoseboutique.com. First, she sent the wrong size. No problem. Mistakes happen. She sent out the correct size and a self-addressed return envelope for sending back the one that was the wrong size. When she shipped it, she e-mailed the tracking number. It shows the belt was delivered on Tuesday, but my parents never received it. I called the post office and the man said it was most likely lost if it hasn't shown up by now. He suggested contacting the company. So I sent an e-mail yesterday. She didn't respond so I called her today. She said she received my e-mail and was thinking about what to do. She said that since it wasn't her fault or mine, there wasn't much she could do. I was out $47. She said she would consider splitting the cost of another belt. I'm not as confident as I once was and said goodbye without disputing her. I called my credit card company. They said it was the responsibility of the merchant to make sure the product was delivered. Since she didn't insure it or have it sent certified, the burden was on her. My parents are to mail back the wrong-sized Buddy Belt, certified and with a tracking number, and then the credit card company will give the company 30 days to refund my money. I'm sure wetnoseboutique.com has been a great company, but this is not the service I was hoping to receive. The first belt, even though it was the wrong size, was mailed promptly. The second one as well, but when a customer isn't happy, wouldn't you think she would be willing to send a replacement belt? Does anyone know of another site for ordering a Buddy Belt? |
Here's the buddy-belt site. It allows you to search for a retailer on the front page. That's too bad that happened. It is the shipper's responsibility, not yours. Welcome to BUDDY BELT (A Division of Class Art Productions Inc.) |
Thank you for the link. I felt so bad complaining, but that's a lot of money for a product never received. |
Do your parents live in an apartment building where it could have been accidentally given to someone else? I know in the past USPS will say that it was delivered but it was picked up by someone else on accident and once they asked around they found out what happened. |

Ah that is frustrating then! I can't say I've made every customer happy in my years of business (but I sure do try!) so I feel for both you, your parents, and the boutique you bought it from. Have your parents talked to the mail carrier, maybe they remember the package? |
When I called the post office, the person talked to the mail carrier right then. The mail carrier said he remembered delivering a small bagged package, but that was more than likely my dad's prescriptions that he received. The mail carrier didn't remember another package. |
This is a tough situation, and as someone who sells online and is constantly shipping things, I know these kinds of things happen. It is actually the post office's responsibility, but since there was no insurance purchased, they will do nothing. I know from first hand experience, that even if you purchase insurance, and the item shows up damaged, they will not pay you your claim unless the box is pretty much mangled. If it is a fragile or delicate item, for example that could be broken when dropped, but show no sign of damage on the box, they will not pay. It is a tough call, bc you and the seller lost out on money on this bc of the post office. In the past, I have done the same, offer to split the charge with the buyer on another one. Even though you are out money, you will be out less than if you go with another company all together. |

Hope you can get it resolved! |

Even if you purchase insurance, it is a waste of time and money!! I always insure my packages. I sent a package to a friend. She never got it but it said it was delivered. Since it said it was delivered even though it wasn't, they refused to refund anything even though we insured and the package never got to the place it was suppose to. To the OP, I agree with you, you should get a full refund or another belt as it is the merchant's fault for not insuring it or taking other precautions. When you pay for a product you expect to get the product!! |

I personally have ordered two Buddy Belts from Susan at wetnoseboutique and had great service and communication with her. The first one was on backorder but I got it the day after she recieved it from the BB manufacturer. I'm sure she will be willing to help you if you call her back. If not another place that has occasional sales and decent prices on BB is funnyfur.com but I have never personally ordered from them so I don't know how great their service is I also totally understand your frustration, things like that make you never want to order from a place again. I ordered from londoncaninecouture and NEVER recieved my item. It took me 4 (unanswered) emails and a threat to open a Paypal dispute (after a month) to get her to refund my money  |
I really do feel at a loss of what else to do. I did provide the tracking number to the post office, and they're the ones that said it's lost. My parents and I have decided to hold off on doing anything until after tomorrow. If the belt doesn't arrive then, we're taking action Monday. I do appreciate her offering to pay half for a new belt, but that's one expensive belt to purchase through her company. She isn't losing money on the deal, that's for sure. The belt that's the wrong size will be returned. That was part of the original agreement and we're keeping to our word. According to the credit card company, it is the company's responsibility to make sure their goods arrive. Being unemployed, I won't be able to order a new belt until I am refunded the money anyway. To me, we paid for a service and first received the wrong size, and now we didn't receive the correct size. It is turning into a bigger hassle for us, not for her. |
You are correct it is the company's responsibility to make sure the goods arrive I had it happen to me with a cell phone. I called and they sent me another one, funny thing is post man left it in an empty apt and it was found months later. I think she should send you another one and if the other one appears be honest and send it back to her. Hope you have a good outcome. |
It arrived... The missing Buddy Belt just arrived. No explanation of where it was, but it's in my parents' hands, now. I do hope wetnoseboutique.com will reimburse my parents for shipping back the one that was the wrong size, though. I e-mailed the request. |
Received a reply e-mail. Shipping will be reimburst. :) |
