Wellness for Puppies Is Wellness for Puppies good for my baby? I keep getting mixed reviews while researching on line... For the most part people say great things, but there are some reviews that worry me. Is there anyone who feeds their puppies this food? |

So glad to hear great things! I can't wait to start her on some better food :) |
what was she eating before? |
I feed my 2 wellness small breed , super 5 mix . Thy are doing wonderful on it :D the kibble size is very small , and your baby should do fine on it. What bad things had u heard about wellness ? |
I start my puppies on Wellness Puppy, when they go to there new families I suggest feeding the same. My adults eat Wellness Small Breed. I have no adverse issues with Wellness.:) |

I fed Wellness puppy food. It was the 3rd food I tried & it agreed with her real well. Now she's older and on Wellness small breed food. She's doing very well on it. Never any issues. Itchiness can be due to not rinsing thoroughly enough when you bath her. There are other causes, but that's one of them. An oatmeal based shampoo/conditioner can be helpful with itchiness too. Bursts of energy... Honey, welcome to the 'zoomies'!!! lol! This is very normal behavior. Don't worry about it, sit back & enjoy it. You're not likely to catch her during one of these spells, so just enjoy! A few mornings ago, just as I was waking up, Roxy jumped onto my feet, ran up the entire length of my body to my head, flipped around, ran down to my feet, down off the bed and out of the room. I guess she was telling me to get up. lol! Now if I could only program her... I'm a very sound sleeper & don't hear alarms. : ) |
We used to feed Wellness Puppy and they both did well on it. We switched to Acana, but not because of anything negative about Wellness. |

If you switch over to Wellness can you let me know how your little guy does on it! It's one of 4 brands I'm considering to switching over to or trying (even though my girl is on a very good kibble now). The only negative thing I heard was that some dogs on Wellness have very loose-smoochy poops and go often and they are real stinky! Specifically on the Wellness Super5Mix Small Breed. The other 3 brands I'm considering which I heard/read excellent reviews on for the real small ones are: Innova, Merrick and Artemis. |
Well, I suppose it is nice to think a dog food might keep a puppy from jumping all over you in bed, but I don't think that's going to happen.:) This is just a puppy thing. Eventually, she will outgrow it! Kacee used to jump on me in bed, too. Heck! She would get back and jump like a kangaroo onto me!:D I think you'll like the Wellness for other reasons, though. Glad she's feeling better these days.:) |
I would NEVER use Wellness. Any food that has been recalled is on my NO NO list. Bones have been found in that food up to 1/4 inch long. I have chosen Lifes Abundance. It was formulated by a vet, and she is actually available to us every week over the phone if we should have questions. It has never been recalled! It is holistic and contains all the best nutrients to make your dog thrive! They make food every week so when it is delivered at your door (so convenient), you are guaranteed the freshest food. Commercial dog food might be a year old before it is served to your dog or cat. I am a full time pet sitter and I recommend this food to my clients as well as everyone I meet. I have seen dogs that had skin problems, bowel problems and poor eating habits totally change after starting on this food. It comes from a company I can trust! I will never feed my dogs anything but Lifes Abundance. Here is their You Tube channel. The videos are alarming! YouTube - TrilogyIntl's Channel If you decide you want to try it, go to www.healthyhappypets.biz Request a free sample or place an order. Or PM me. :) |
Just wanted to clarify, I do not think Wellness was recalled, but there are plenty of claims about finding bones in the food. |
I use Wellness brand small breed and puppy formula, it's been great. I like that the kibbles are really small~ |

I have all four of mine on Wellness small breed. I haven't had any problems with loose stools. They love it! As a matter of fact, the puppies liked the small breed better than the puppy Wellness. |

Wow your little girl sounds just like my little girl! I saw they make Puppy pills or something you can put in their food to prevent or stop them from "play" biting...not sure how effective they are, but I may have to try it out. I do tell my little girl NO when she tries to bite my fingers or when she gives me kisses and then tries to bite my lips of nose, but it's not working even though I repeat myself constantly like a parrot! Also, I find that playing "canine" music - classical tones, really calms my girl down. I bought and downloaded puppy music and put it on when my girl is going nuts (especially if it's at night) and it calms her down and she's in her bed halfway through the first track. I'd be happy to send you the zip file of the music if you are interested too. :) |

About the pills, if you do try them, let me know how it goes... Olive does the same thing and she's 16 week so it's starting to hurt! I'm a little leary of that kind of stuff, but if it works, I'm willing to try! |
I tried 3 different foods before I settled on Wellness. I wish I had just started with it. One reason I like it is because it's not suppose to have as many fillers in it. (actually, I've heard all dog foods have fillers in them...some more than others) My two eat it right up and they aren't hungry an hour later. Another reason I loke it is I've noticed their coats are silkier and softer since being on it. I was glad to see so many Yt'rs with beautiful babies are also feeding Wellness. :) |
