Which x pen do you like the best and where did you get it? I badly need to get one, but I don't want one that will fall over if they jump on the side of it, when they are in it. It will only be for in the house, so I can't anchor it down.

I have the Therapet X-pen from dog.com. They are on sale right now and shipping is only $5.99 until the end of the month. It works great and gets very good reviews. They also have a selection of plastic and soft pens to choose from.

I have the super yard XT be careful where you get then from. I suggest going to Babies are us to look as they are twice as expensive in the dog stores, than in the baby store.

I have the IRIS Plastic Exercise / Containment Pet Pen for Dogs. I got it from Amazon and it works great. I purchased the 8 panel set since I have 3 little babies. They have plenty of room. Assembly is super easy.

I have a baby play pen also. I don't remember which one it is, but I got it with my AMEX points so it was free!:D I got it from Target so it was way cheaper than the doggy ones. It's really sturdy, Kaji would jump on the sides and it never fell over.

Hubby got ours off the internet, it is a gold metal one that has 2 extension pieces if wanted. The panels on ours are 24" x 24". It came with 8 panels. We never had any problems with them jumping or climbing out but other members have said their littles managed to get out. The also have a 36" tall one.

That seems pretty small. 8 of the panel's would only make a 4' square. Can you attach it to the front of a wire crate so there would be a little more room?

I'm sure enjoying all the responses! I went and looked at baby play pens on ebay, and thought I found a couple of them to keep an eye on. But, now I'm wondering if'n they will be big enough for maybe 4 pups? or an adult that I don't want to get pregnant? or a male so he doesn't breed a female????
Would I be better off getting an x pen? I would need to get at least the 30" tall kind, because if it's on the floor, he would jump a 24" one easily. I just wish someone would say, "Barb, get the ____, and be done with it!" I'm just really getting confused with all the choices!

This is the exact one I have that I used with my 1 yr old yorkie boy. (12 in long, almost 14 in tall)
Summer Infant Surround Sound Play Yard : Target
For a while I was just using 4 panels because of the limited space and I mostly used to keep him safe from my roomie's super mean dog. I had his food, water, and reasonably sized bed in there and a few of his toys; that was his safe place when I wasn't home. I eventually used all 6 panels, and made a rectangle with it so I included a doggie tent instead of the bed so he could cuddle up and hide with his chew in there, a piddle pad, food, water and some toys. He still had plenty of room to walk and I knew he and his chews were safe. He never tried to jump, so that was never an issue for us.
The only reason I stopped using it was because we moved in with my parents and he's the only dog here. No more needing to keep him safe away from a mean dog. :thumbup::D

Edited to add that this one is 30 inches tall. :)

I've been looking at this xpen for Cooper. I think I like it better than the metal one. He hates a crate and I've heard alot about the xpens on YT. My concern is that he is a climber. Does anyone have issues with their little one climbing over? Also, I have hardwood floors and it looks like it would slide easily.

I ordered this one this morning. I have hardwood floors also, so I hope it works. After comparing many different places that carry it, I ended up with the best deal at Home Depot. I spend a good share of the day, cleaning up after 5 puppies -- so I'll be very glad when this gets here.

Yes, that is what we did. we also have it up against a corner so we actually were able to extend it using the walls. Their area winds up actuall measuring 6' x 6' x 8' x 6'.

My suggestion there would be to spread a blanket under the pen big enough for the whole pen to sit on to prevent sliding on your hardwood floors. Especially with young puppies, they can be messy so a blanket can easily be thrown in the wash. At least that's what I did. :D As for climbing.... I really have no suggestion. Kaji could easily jump over he just never tried. I tried not to teach him it's ok to jump over by always using the door/gate to get him in and out of the xpen. That way he always associated the gate with coming in and out and never giving him the option of going over the top as a way to get out.

I got a x pen when allie was 12 weeks she did find the first day then the second. day i came home to find her running around, we went and bought a sheet of wood to lay across the top so she couldnt jump out i was scared she would hurt herself if she continued to climb and jump out

That's a very good idea about the blanket, thanks so much!!! Also a great point about using the gate instead of lifting them over the top!

I have been cleaning up my hardrive and organizing all of Kaji's pictures. I found some of him in his expen, set up with just 4 panels. I thought I'd post one in case anyone was wondering what that looked like.

Oh I know, I'm such a bad mommy! I was just cleaning and refreshing his bowls and he sat there so patiently and looked so cute I stopped to take a picture.

Long story short, my roomie freaked out about me having a dog after being completely fine with the idea, so to assure her, I put a plastic chairmat on the floor, in case he had an accident it wouldn't get on the carpet, and to not be mean and have him sit on something cold, I put a blankie. It was just the right size to fit under the expen. When I finally set it up with 6 panels, I had a much bigger blanket to put under, but I didn't get a picture of that.
