Bows for 'Little Men"/barrettes What stays in better an elastic or a barrette? I thought a barrette is easier to put in - I don't want to pull his hairs!!! |
Well i still have to put a band anyways. I guess a barrete is easier I slip it under the band in between the hair so it will stay. |
I've used both and I was partial to barrettes (the french kind), but I just bought some bows that only come with bands and I found them very easy to put on and they seemed to stay. You only use one of the bands on the back and I only wrapped mine twice. What I did was put it in and then take my comb that has the metal pick thingy at the end (I think it's called a rattail comb) and pull the band out so I could get it around one more time. I got it over the band that was in Sophie's hair already and it was pretty secure. |
Bands stay in better than barrettes and are safer since a barrette can be a choking hazard. The bands on the bow are for placement only so it is very easy to pop the bow on after you've made a topknot. If you prefer the ease of a barrette, make the topknot first, then clip the bow directly under the band so it can't slide up. A barrette can be clipped on as an accent without a topknot, but remember not to put too much hair in it or the release bar will pop off and the barrette will be broken. This is my favorite topknot tutorial: Topknots shared by Linda Grimm and Maria Lelinho starring Rocky! Many Thanks! |
Thanks everyone - I have decided to go with bands...boy bands of course;) |
