I got the large one. I forgot to add that I use harnesses on mine, so no worries about them being choked.;)

Mimimomo:

I told you that I was distracted. Is that the Pet Gear, Snoozer, or another brand that you have?

How am I suppose to concentrate on choosing a car seat when your little sweeties look so darn cute and Mimi's fabulous coat texture/color are distracting me?

I think I will try the Snoozer.

Hehee, Thank You!:D

It's Pet Gear. The best price I found is here: Booster Seats from King Wholesale Pet Supplies

Thank you for the info. I placed an order for the large one also. :)

I have a question... what is the BEST car seat for a big boy... Jackson is almost 13lbs and I want him to be comfortable and able to lie down and sit. But my question is... is there a seat where he would be able to still stick his head out the window? I always leave a crack open at the top and he LOVES riding with his head out the window (he's secure where he can't get out the window...) but I'm always worried he won't be able to in one of these seats.

The Snoozers are very comfortable and since they are tethered and cannot roam, usually they will lie down and get settled in. The added benefit is they are higher up and can see out the windows even while reclining. They do provide a great measure of safety. Crates can be dangerous even if buckled into a seat belt as the pup will be thrown inside the crate if in an accident. If the crate isn't buckled in, then the crate risks becoming a flying object (a double whammy to your pup inside).

I agree. I have the Snoozer Lookout II and Sophie loves it. She immediately jumps in and settles down. I highly recommend them instead of a crate.

Do you use the medium size or large for your two yorkies?

I have the small one in my suv; I only drive short distances with the both of them. They fit well and probably would be comfortable in it for longer trips also. We have the buddy seat in hubby's suv as that is when we would go for much longer rides. They can both stretch out.

Here are pictures of the small and bigger one. I only have a picture of the small one on the boat.

Mom to Hot Rod:

You wrote that Maggie moves around in the Snoozer. I know Max will squirm and work hard to escape -- my primary concern is that the tether will end up wrapped around his neck. Is that possible? I suppose I need to find a store where I can see one of these seats in person.

I currently have a wire crate in my back seat and I have tried a soft crate. Max hates both, despite having a comfy bed and a great view out the window. He seems excited about going in the car, then he acts panicked the entire time we are driving.

Like Mimimomo does, I use harnesses so I'm not concerned about them being choked. Hot Rod will turn and twist so that he's behind the tether but not being choked. I just turn him around and he's fine.

My front seat turns on the air bag depending on weight and the snoozer with them in it does not weigh enough to deploy the air bag. I don't know if having it in the front seat alleivates any panic or not as when I am alone, they've always been in the front with me.

Snoozer counsel car seats

I bought a Snoozer counsel seat for my 10+ lb. Yorkie. I bought the large one and ordered it right from Snoozer which I had found to be the cheapest price. The large size is perfect for her and she has enough room to lay down. Put a harness on your dog and then attach to the tether and there is no problem of chocking.

We have the Easy Rider harness which is a padded harness that attaches to the seatbelt so it's fairly safe. We just got a second one that we can attach (somehow) to the seatbelt IN the PetGear Carseat which is great, just not safe.

I have the Snoozer from Pet Gear as well. Couver loves it! It has two tethers, so when I get another, I will not have to buy a new seat.

Britster- It would work great for Jackson... Couver is 7 pounds, and I easily could fit two of him in it :p

I would definitely recommend this seat. I just wish the tethers were shorter. I've made quick stops, and Couver is hanging by his harness over the edge of his seat  I also want to find a different clip because the one on it right now is impossible to undo with one hand.

Woops, I meant to attach this picture of Couver in his seat. I have a blanket on it for extra comfort :)

I just recently bought the Snoozer from Pet Gear, I  it! It took Peanut a couple weekes I think to feel comfortable in it. He loves to look out of the window so much he usually wont lay down, unless its a longer car ride. I would recommend it!! I have the Med one and Peanut is 4lbs.

Thanks Couvers Mom!!

Couver- I have mine on the smallest setting and then I tied it in a knot over the adjuster-thing which helped a lot!

I might do that... I don't want him falling over the side anymore :p
