Shampoo I bought BioGroom protien shampoo. You are supposed to dilute it by 4 to 1. Does anyone else use this? I find I have to use quite a bit to get a good lather, anyone else have this problem? |
I use it on Lola with no problems...but I dont dilute it 4:1 I like 2:1 or 3:1 it seems to get a better lather...JMO.. |

I don't know about bigger bottles but on the sample bottles I've got it says you don't have to dilute it at all if you don't want, but it lasts a tad longer when you do. |
I follow the bottle instructions, but you need to remember a good lather is not a sign that the product is cleaning, a good lather just means that the product will be harder to rinse out. If you leave shampoo in the hair, it may irritate skin and it will attract oil and dirt faster, so just because there are not lots of suds, don't think it isn't cleaning. Same with detergents that clean clothes, low suds are better, but people psychologically want high suds. |

I have diluted the biogroom samples to 4:1 and yes it is thin. But what I've done is put the mixture in a small water bottle, and i put my thumb covering almost the entire mouth of the bottle and shake it onto Uni's hair. Just a couple of shakes does the job. I would also like to say Uni is straching about 80% less than she was before. I think coupled with the better food and better products, she may well be on her way to better hair! |
How much shampoo? To how much water? In oz you guy use? |

 This! Lathering really isn't a sign of a good clean, lathering has everything to do with ingredients added (a type of sulfate usually.) These sulfates are actually quite irritating depending on the concentration added, so in many ways... the less lather you have to get the clean you want the better. Its the reason that a lot of the biogroom products don't lather so much... they're gentler. Psychologically we expect it to suds, but it doesn't necessarily have to and in a lot of dog shampoos less lather is better. When I use biogroom I dilute it to 4 to 1, and I've never had a problem at getting Winston clean - IMO it does work better the more you dilute it. |
