Product for Itchy Skin
 
Has anyonone ever used a product called Skin-Eze for itchy dog skin? Can anyone give a recommendation on a good, safe product?

hello and welcome, I never heard of that product, I use a product called calm coat, is great for itchy skin in the winter months.. I had the vet ruled out any allergies and we noticed that he scratches a lot in the winter months due to the dry heat, so my holistic vet suggested calm coat and so far I been using it for almost two years now and working great..

All Biogroom shampoos are made with chamomile and coconut oil based ingredients which are proven to help stop itches, and to be very good for the skin.

can you please tell me what ingredients calm coat spray contain. also do you use any other products from them; like the calm eye... i am really interested in their products; my dog itches all the time and her belly sometimes is red; not sure why?

For a product recommendation, it sort of depends on the cause of the skin issue - can you describe what's going on or what the diagnosis is?

Most time the itch is from a food based allergy. (Commercial dog food and dog treats are usually the culprit). Some are even allergic to carpet, since most are of a wool blend and we also bring things in on our shoes that should not be in the carpet where they lay. (you may want to put some slippers by the door for family and visiters to slip on before they come in). Try to buy 100% cotton sweaters and clothes. Next, add some omega 3 fatty acids in the diet. Another is to find a very gentle shampoo, and even dilute that down. Make sure you rinse, rinse, rinse and rinse again, it's so very important. Then go with a gentle rinse out conditioner and add some vegetable glycerine. The leave in types can cause some itching. In the dry winter months it isn't really necessary to bathe the dog weekly. Try to wait every three to four weeks. Just wash the face, feet and bottom each day.
