Clip for changing dog tags Anyone ever seen this or have one. I was just wondering if it works and if it lasts. I hate moving tags from collar to collar. I just don't want to lose tags. Tail Fashions |
That's kinda cool...I'd want to know how long the "drop" is though bc that middle ring looks sort of big. One thing you might do is go to the hardware store to the section where they make keys...and I betcha you could put together something almost exactly like this. |
You can also go to a store like Hobby Lobby and look in their craft section. They have the clips and the rings to put tags on. |

I don't know if Cindy still has any or if she sells them separately, but Chattiesmom had something about a quick clip for tags. You may want to check her out. :) |
I have one of these clips for Daisy's tags. It is very handy and easy to move to a new harness. I thought of making one myself, but couldn't find anything that delicate and small. I am sure it is out there, tho. Let us know what you find. |
I actually did go to Hobby Lobby and got small fasteners (like on a necklace), jump rings, and little 'cow' bells so I know where my Tessa is!! They also have jingle bells, but they are not as 'noisy', Total cost was about $5 and got enough for 4! Obviously you can also use them for id tags, rabies tags, etc. Took about 2 minutes to put them together! |
Yea!!! Made one Quote:

I hated changing them too, so I just bought a little tag for every collar lol. There's this site on ebay and they're only like $1.00 plus .50 for shipping so I bought four different tags with his info on it lol. |
1 Attachment(s) The snap that attaches the split ring to the collar/harness is terribly small -- I would be concerned whether or not it would be strong enough to hold for any length of time. Here is the Quick Link that Bo was talking about. They are 1 1/4" long, 1/2" wide and weights a whopping 1/10 of one ounce. You screw open the link, pop your tags on, slip the link on the collar/harness and screw it closed. VERY secure. |
I like the "make it yourself idea" and may try it too. Long term I'm going to get a harness/leash combo from chattiesmom but bought a cheaper one for use until Aidan's size is known. The company that makes them also sells this matching Tag It - Pet ID Holder. (Had to get one of course...) Cetacea Corporation - Pets :: Toys & Gifts :: Tag-It (Pet ID Tag Holder) |

The only problem with those is that I have had them get loose. ... they are easily "unscrewed". I had one hanging on a pocketbook and lost it. :( I am also afraid that the lobster clasp might not be sturdy enough. Perhaps there is a way to make something more permanent like the one that slides over a collar, but without a plastic clip? |
