Harnesses Just wondering what others on here use as harnesses for their little bubs. My dog is turning 1 year on the 24th of this month and needs a new harness. Any glowing suggestions? Thanks in advance. |
Well I use harness shirts on my boys but a lot of people in this forum use puppia and the step in harnesses. There are discussions about these types of harnesses you would just have to search for them. If you would like to try the harness shirts you can check out my site for some designs. Also check out tinkerbells closet and chloebella Melinda www.sassypetwear.com |
Check out Chattiesmom on YT. She makes custom silk step in harness/leash to order - very reasonably priced. The silk does not break or matt their hair. |
sizes for harnesses? Can you tell me what size of a harness would a 5 lbs yorkie wear? Quote:

Scooter uses a small size Puppia harness. We have been through 3 levels of obedience classes and it works great. It is easy on and easy off. I have not tried Chattiesmom's harness but a lot of members like them. I bought the Puppia harness in the beginning (two years ago) and it is still working well. He started as an X-Small and now uses the Small. I only use it for walks or training class, otherwise he has a regular collar, so that may be why it has lasted us so long. Puppia harnesses are super soft and adjustable so you can adjust the body size as necessary. Here is a link to the kind Scooter has: Puppia Dog Harness Soft Mesh |

Thanks Melinda |
I got Sophie a harness at Walmart that she seems to do good with. It is adjustable from 8" to 12" so she'll be able to wear it for a while! |
i got my lily an anti-pull harness (x-small) and it works great for her. it seems really comfortable for her b/c it has padding stuff for under her legs, and stretch-mesh on her chest. it stops her from pulling, but rather than trying to pull, and then stopping, she just doesn't....or if she does, then i can't tell. hope this helps.... |
I use step in harness' for all mine. I got them from pet edge. |
Thanks, everyone. I got a Puppia Harness. He felt a little weird at first but was soon loving the "give" of the fabric compared to the cheap, ropey thing I had before. Boy-o, for little dogs they sure outgrow things quick as a puppy.:animal-pa |

I've heard wonderful things about Chattiesmom's harnesses here on YT. :) Also great things about the Buddy Belt and Puppia. I use the Premier Easy Walk harness for walking Jackson but if he's on a retractable lead or something else, we just use some harness from Petsmart. |
New Puppia Styles For those of you that haven't seen them, Puppia has three new (not sure how new) styles, the "rite fit", the "superior" and a safety harness. I ordered Harley a "superior" style and received it today, and it fits wonderfully. It is very similiar to the origional style only it has an adjustable neck and waist, where the origional style just has the adjustable waist. We loved our first Puppia but when it got tight to get over his head, I switched to the step in style and have not personally been pleased with it because it made a mess of his hair (Harley has a cotton coat). I was going to order a size up in the origional just to see if I could make it work when I came across the new styles. If anyone has a baby that is in between sizes or just has a big head like my babies you should check these out! Jeri and Harley |
