What kind of brush do ya'll use? I want to know what sort of brush you guys use. Especially if you have a cottony coat yorkie. PLease show me a pic. I am searching for the perfect brush :) |
Right now we're using a metal comb. I'm going to invest in a boar bristle brush when I figure out whether to get the medium or the hard. Any suggestions? |
I use a comb too. I have a slicker brush for mats on my maltese but only use it when I need to as it can break the coat. |
I'm interested in the answer to this question, too. I've been using a comb on my cottony-coated Yorkie, but am having difficulty getting out his tangles. I use Ice-on-Ice along with the other CC products and they make him very soft, but I'm still having trouble with tangles. I don't understand where the tangles come from when I comb him every single day! Argh! |
1 Attachment(s) I started out using a slicker brush(the one that looks like little metal wires coming out of a flat back) but I then heard that it was rough on their skin and to use a pin brush. When I first got one of these I got a metal dog one but I didn't think it felt so nice either so I switched to a plastic one. Its actually a people one I believe by conair and its small like it would fit in your purse so its the perfect size for my pup. I got it at Target for about 2 dollars, I have like 4 lying around the house. I don't know if its ok for me to use this one on my dog but it works for me. It doesn't seem like it would hurt her, she loves it in fact and I think she looks good after she's brushed. Plus she's not a show dog so she doesn't have to be perfect. After I've brushed her I go back with a comb and make sure she's free of mats, mainly concentrating on problem areas like her belly by her legs and behind her ears and such. Just to finish her off. Here's a pic of mine... |
:) Thanks so much for the pic and all you guys help! |
