Premier Easy-Walk Harness Easy Walk Harness Product Description - Premier Pet Love it! I purchased this a few days ago, got it very quickly in the mail and just tried it out on a walk for the first time today... Jackson was WAY better with just ONE walk! Hardly any pulling at all. He was a changed dog! It wasn't fit exactly right yet but I'm gonna mess around with the size changing tonight while he's real tired. I'm very happy with this product :) |
Premier Easy Walk Harness I agree that the Premier Easy Walk Harness is fantastic. It helps so much. I am surprised that everyone doesn't use it. It just makes so much sense to keep the dog by ones side. The D ring at the dogs chest creates a pull at the dogs chest that instinctively enables the dog to walk more by one's side versus the natural instinct to pull that is a product of having the leash connect to the dog above the dogs shoulders. Connecting above the dogs shoulders is a set up to pull... like pulling a sleigh. Great product. Also if the dog happens to "chew" the product you can return the chewed harness and they will send you a new one for something like $8 dollars.. nice! |
How is it on their coats -- does it tangle them up????? |

I have had no problem at all with tangling in long coats. |
I purchased that same harness for Gracie who has chewed several other one that ripped in half, but believe or not she just did the same thing to this harness which I thought was much more durable then others, now I have to send it back because it said it was a lifetime garentee. By the way Gracie is only 10 months old.:aimeeyorkGracie and Kellie:) |

We love the Easy Walk, although my new favorite is by Wiggles Wags and Whiskers. It has a velvet band under the belly and I like the placement of the clips. It only works for bigger Yorkies though. Loki wears the smallest size and he is 12 pounds. :D |
Thanks for posting this! I was looking for a harness that would not cause the jagging and coughing (going around the neck)! I will order one and try it! Oh, and Nolee use to chew on his harnesses also! He grew out of it too! |
Often they do grow out of chewing..... But some bitter apple spray sometimes helps to strongly remind them not to chew. |

After the first time I tried the Easy Walk on Teddi, I knew I'd never go back to the regular harness! The hardest part was the fitting but once that's over with, it's so easy to put it on/off. I did, however, end up switching to the Gentle Leader harness because it was more effective against pulling when something distracts him from the walk (e.g. kids playing nearby). That one was a little easier to fit but a little harder to put on. But, either one's a good buy! |

If I ever need another one for any reason, I will get the Gentle Leader. But for now, I'm very happy with the Easy walk! |
Interesting post. I am using the Puppia Harness which connects on his back. Pulling is occasionally a problem and I am looking into the Easy Walk. However, I have a really stupid question.... how does it work with the D-Ring on his chest? Doen't the lead get in their face? When we walk, I've been training Remy to heel, which he does some of the time, but during our walk I will also let him wander around and "take the lead" for fun. With the D-Ring on his chest, how will this work? Maybe I'm being an idiot but I just can't visualize how this works... |
We use the Puppia harness as well and Buddy is a puller. I ordered a walk nice harness from Cindy(Chattiesmom) and can't wait to use it. I am just waiting for Bud's new name tag to arrive to attach it and then off we go.:dogwalk: |

The lead does not get in Jackson's face. It's basically like walking a dog with a collar, except it's not on their neck, it's on their chest. It's the same concept as "loose leash walking." You can't really loose leash walk with a harness attached to the back, I've learned. It kind of brings back their instinct to pull (sled dogs). However, I don't know how well it would work with a flexi leash... that may get in the way. Jackson can still kind of go off ahead of me, he's just not pulling which is nice. I know that Chattiesmom (on this site) makes walk-nice harnesses (That ARCHIE ^ was talking about) and they have both the D ring on the front and the back so you have the option. I will be ordering from her as well. The only reason I didn't was because she has a little over 3 week lead time right now and I'm going on vacation so wanted to have it before then but I've heard marvelous things about her! |
Thanks for posting their site! I just went and checked it out. I am also going to buy from Cindy. I just have to find my measuring tape to measure the girls!! I was glad to hear what you thought about it...I have a puller! I have tried so many different harnesses that it isn't funny. I hate to bring them for a walk (lillie doesn't pull but, I'd feel bad bringing her and not Sadie) because Sadie pulls so much she coughs and gags and chocks herself. |
I got one of these for my teapot yorkie Gizmo who is 13 lbs this past week. He is 11 years old and is not bad to pull all the time but when he does the least little bit he coughs because of his trachea. It is wonderful. He is a completely different little guy walking now. I liked it so much I went back and got little Barkley one. The are not the most glamorous harness but they sure do work. I also like the hook on the front because they can still wear their little shirts and things and we can get to the hook. |
Okay, I had posted on another harness thread OP had posted in referring to this harness. :p Sorry! I couldn't find this one when I was looking earlier. :p Here's my post copied from the other thread. LOL. Hope you see this, Britster! How long did it take for that to work on yours? Did it ever cause choking? After reading your review on that, I had been eager to try it out. So just yesterday, I picked one up and it was that same brand in a Petite as my girl's around 13" girth. For the first 10 steps walking her in it, it seemed to work wonderfully. She seemed to have wanted to stay in pace or behind. BUT, in less than a minute, when she pulled she started the hacking. Though it might have been because it fits a little loose? And when she pulls, it kind of slides over so the attached part goes towards the arm while what's on top of her lower trachea is just the strap. I was not comfortable using it any longer after that though so I had refunded it same day. I've been using a leather harness that rides even lower and is not a "strap" as much as it is more of a flat leather band with 2 holes in it for her legs. So it's really a non-issue with it causing trachea problems with my pully excitable little girl. But again, the attachment is on the back so, yes, she acts like a dog pulling a sled at times. I wanted to add that when she coughs because of the pulling, she won't do anything to stop pulling. I was hoping for a solution to this. :( |

Thanks for the quick response! I think I got the smallest size available and according to the size chart it's what she falls under for girth measurement. It's the one with the chi on the cover and it's a grey strap. The next size up was a red which was a small. I'll just have to keep this harness in mind when I get future dogs as I'm sure it would work on them but not my current girl. :) Thanks again for the review! It was greatly appreciated. |
Im so glad you posted this!! Its so funny we use this for our Wiemaraner but I've never though about getting one for Mitzy who is really the puller!! Lol I will have to look for one in her size |
I just bought a small for my Bella..thinking it was the right size..it was too big!! so, i have to go and exchange it out...u can buy them at petsmart if anyone is looking to buy them in a store!! :-) |
