I have the first one.. The step in. I love them!! No matting, no hair breakage. I love them for traveling in the car especially. Their so easy to clip into her carseat and then take her out and clip her leash on. I love love love them! I have the pink heart one and its so cute on her. I do worry about the clips being a bit heavy but with the leash attached it doesn't seem to bad. Thats my only concern though |
I have the puppia step in harness, and also have the sport vest step in jacket love it, love it, but I think is kind of warm for summer time so I use the regular step in harness:D;) |

Definitely the step in one for little Tatum! I got Maddie and Libby the other one, not realizing it had to be pulled over the head. I just don't use them because it is a tight fit to get over the head. One of these days, I want to get them the step in kind. |
1 Attachment(s) I would also recommend the step-in. My KJ's both have them in a variety of colors and I must tell u: i love them, they are so comfty and we we go for long walks not only they look stylish but I know they are comfty Attachment 274579 My Kacy;) |
I havent had any luck with these, and I tried both of them. Reesee hates to have anything over her head so the second one was a nightmare for that reason, plus the neck was so big she would put her legs through it accidentally while walking :( It was a no go. I found that she didn't like the step in either and it gapped a lot on her chest because she is really thin. Sorry to dissapoint but wanted to give you my experience. |
Guess I'm against the odds here :p I am a Puppia-lover! We have harnesses on AT ALL TIMES here, and it's always Puppia. Have a few different colors, all of the second style. I have ONE of the step-in ones, and I personally do not like it. In my opinion, it is far too bulky for these little ones. But obviously, to each their own ;) :D :p ETA: Any of you that have over-the-head ones that you don't like in boy colors, size small??? I'd love to buy if you're selling reasonably priced! Please don't hijack the thread tho (like I am right now)...but instead PM me ;) Thanks! |
1 Attachment(s) Buster uses the second, over-the-head style. They have a new, third style that's like the old over-the-head style but has clips around the neck portion so it can be put on like a step-in. See: Puppia Dog Harness-Ritefit In my opinion, it's too bulky with all those straps, though. But I'd consider Buddy Belts as an alternative to Puppia. Buster likes his more than the Puppia, and it pulls entirely on his chest (whereas the Puppia pulls both on his chest and a little on his neck). The only thing about the Buddy Belt is it might be a little too rugged on his fur for fulltime use, but on walks it's ideal for us. |
This has been a very informative thread. I also need to get a new harness for my older teapot Gizmo. He has always had a sensitive trachea. I have always used the step in harness but as he is getting older he seems more sensitive. I have been considering the Puppia but also like the looks of the Buddy Belt. Oh well, decisions, decisions, decisions!!!! |
Brooke, I have the first style and love it, its so easy to put it on them. I got it for Tarra when she had to go out after her surgery. How is that cutie Tator doing?:D |
