Drinking fountain?? Does anyone have any suggestions for pet drinking fountains? Are they worth it? Are they easy to clean? |
Are you getting this for kitty? :p |
I have a Large Pet Mate drinking fountain for the dogs and they love it!! The water stays cool and is always fresh. They even prefer to drink from the fountain over just a bowl with water. Plus with the big reservoir it has, I don't need to fill it with water often. You do have to take it apart to clean it. Once you take it apart it is pretty easy to clean all the pieces. I have had mine for over a year and it still works great. |

I have This: Automatic Dog Waterer: Deluxe Fresh Flow Pet Fountain at Drs. Foster & Smith I have to clean it twice a week since the yorkies have dirty beards that get in the water!:p But if you keep it where only your cat can get to it I'd imagine you would clean it less. It has a charcoal filter and comes apart very easily to clean. I like the look of the black one but you can find a small version of the fountain in white at petsmart for less. And the replacement filters are sold there too! I like this one because there is no noise, the other fountains that have a waterfall are a little more loud (the noise might be therapeutic for your kitty!). I keep mine in my bedroom so I remember to clean it often and know when the water is getting low. Also the deluxe fresh flow has an adjustable flow fast/slow and the regular does not. I like to be able to adjust it if I need to, I don't know why I just do! OCD! The Deluxe is about $10 more. I have had both the regular and deluxe for over 2 years now going strong. Hope this helps Kyle:) |
Oh and BTW, you are not the only one with mental pets! I had to get the fountain because Addison would NOT stop digging all the water out of her bowl EVERY DAY sometimes 2 or 3 times! Neurotic! |
My mum has a Cat-it for her Yorkie and I was thinking about getting one for my two. I know she only needs to clean it out every 3-4wks because Ellie is the only one to drink from it and she's not a huge drinker. CAT-IT PET DRINKING FOUNTAIN: Amazon.co.uk:... Quote:

I had a drinkwell but when it broke i got a cat it. The dog and cat both drink out of it. They seem to like it and it is super easy to clean. Much easier than the drinkwell. |
