what do you use for bad breath? charlie is teething and has very bad breath.

well, my baby is not teething but I'm using dental mouthrinse for dogs and her mouth smells so good. they sell it in any dog store, I bought mine at petsmart. the way it works: to the water your baby drinks add one tablespoon of the mouthwash for every 32 ounces of water. it keeps teeth clean, smelling good and supposedly free of tartar.

Thanks I am going to have to try that also. Sometimes It can get bad. I have also taken Tayah in to the vet to have her teeth cleaned.

i went to petco and got the four paw liquid mouthwash to add to his water. I have to say we have been using it for two days now and his breath is so much better. He doesn't have the yucky fishy smell anymore.

I'm very happy is working! I've just noticed Sasha started teething. is there anything special I should do?

I recently adopted a yorkie from our local shelter, and he
is young, but had the most God Awful breath! Vet found
he had a retained baby tooth with was trapping food, and
causing the stench. He went back the following week to have
it removed (under sedation), and he gets a daily 'treat' with a
tad of doggie toothpaste on it, which seems to have done the trick.
He has pearly whites now, and the bad breath is gone, yippeee.

My 4-year-old has breath to kill!!! Mouth rinse that is added to the water is VERY effective. Also, look in the pup's mouth for an abscess, tooth coming in wrong, dry blood, or an infection. In older dogs, this breath is caused by gingivitis, gum disease, due to the fact that they have tiny mouths and really don't eat the bones that will self-clean their teeth. Brush frequently. They loooove chicken flavored toothpaste....Petsmart has this and the rinse. I know they advocate once per day, but I normally do Lilly's twice a week with good success. Also, they now offer holistic, homeopathic dental cleaning with no anesthesia. I just had the older dog done with HUGE success. It's also much cheaper. :D

My new pup was a rescue and has two front snaggles...:D....what a looker!!! He had four, but the two bottom came out. I work on them at night. He lets me wiggle his teeth gently. This is how the bottom two finally came out. Baby teeth have tiny roots, if any at all. I also find that rolled up piggy ears are perfect for promoting cleaning. They are tiny, they can hold them in their wittle paws :animal-pa, and away they go. The are digestible and yummy!!! I hope you are well, and good post!!!!:thumbup:

yeah piggy ears are good. I have for Sasha piggy ears, bones, and squares.
