Parvo Bleach How do I clean. . . after a dog has had parvo? If I used regular bleach, wouldn't it turn the carpet, floors, etc. white? So what should I do? |
Not unless your useing it full strength. Go by the directions on the bottle. If it's in the carpet, I doubt you will get those germs out. You should really tear the carpet out and either get new carpet or some other type of flooring. We tore out carpet and had wood floors put down. So much easier to sanitize if needed and much cleaner. I don't even have the allergies that I use to. |
I don't think bleach is safe on carpet in the consentration needed to kill parvo which is about 1/2 to a gallon of water. I personally would never use bbleach on carpet. Bleach is best for hard surfaces, there are some disinfactants that are said to be safe on pourous objects and will kill parvo. KennelSol is said to kill the Parvovirus, you might want to see if can be used safely on carpet, I know there are some products, I can't remember the names. Don't just use any disinfectant, it has to say it will kill Parvovirus. Here's a link for more information. Cleaning and Disinfecting |
Ohh; lol! Okay thanks! Yeah I heard of there being some cleaner, and this thing called parvocide? I don't think I can afford to take all the carpet out of my house. hahahahaha.;):D So those cleaners, would I just apply them directly to the carpet? Because I read in parts it just said, no rinse required. So I assumed I would just put it on the carpet and leave it? Do I need to add water? Sorry i am so dumb :( |

Sorry, I don't know anymore than you do about that. Maybe someone has used it before. I wonder if the vet sells anything? |
I actually just got through cleaning after parvo pup. We used bleach on the first day, then we called the vet and asked them about other products like Parvisol..etc. She said that they sell it but bleach is more effective than anything! she said theres probably no way to get parvo out of porous things, like carpet. We diluted the bleach and cleaned the carpet, no discolor so far. Then we bleached everything again on the 5th day. :D |
