Need to buy a doggie basket for my bike Hi, I need to purchase a doggie basket for my bike. Anyone know of a good brand? I would need to clip her to it somehow, so she doesn't jump out. Please let me know. Thanks, Periwinkle |
I have a beach cruiser, so I got a large metal basket for it to hold the dogs. I made the padded cushion for the bottom, and then made short attachments for the girls out of bias tape and a clip at both ends........one end hooked to their harnes and the other end hooked to the back of the basket. They have never once tried to get out. They are just crazy about bike riding. :D |
I have always just put a pillow in mine and harnessed Maggie in but they also make cute ones that are for dogs that come padded with the harnesses and anchors. Just search online for dog bike baskets. |
Here's a couple that people have recommended in the past. Both have the harness hooks. Solvit Products Standard Tagalong Dog Bicycle Basket Rattan Wicker Pet Cruiser : Target |
1 Attachment(s) They have some baskets made especially for small dogs to ride along. And some cute ones too.. They have one that has like a metal roll cage over it so in case the bike falls over the dog does not fall out of it. Im really fond of something like that.. Heres a pic (not my dog or bike just got it off google) :) |
Need to buy a doggie basket for my bike Thanks guys, I'll check them out. Periwinkle |
I wanted to mention, these harnesses from Fido Rido make excellent harnesses for bike baskets because they have D-rings on each side of the harness, and you can secure them at each side, so they don't tumble out. Harness Sheila |
We have the Pet Cruiser like sold at Target and it has the wire frame to go over the top. There is a harness attachment as well. I like the top because I feel it further protects their head and bodies if we were to fall. My girls love bike riding!!! |
