Where do you put your used pads? I use disposable pads for Gabby...Skip goes outside. I only use one pad per day for her-I tried using cloth pads at first- but they stunk so bad while they were waiting to be washed--I didn't wash them immediatley after she used one for a day. Should I have been? What do people do? I know it would save money to use the cloth- but my husband doesn't like the smell. Any solutions? |
If you only use one pad a day, you should stick with disposables. I use washables, but I change them after each use so I wash them everyday. I keep them in a diaper pail, but they still stink, even just in a day. |
My laundry room is in my garage, but I just fold the used pads in fourths with the soiled side in and stack them next to the washer until I have enough for a load. (3 to five pads). I don't spend my days in the garage, but I have never noticed a smell that way. I think the waterproof backing holds the smell in. Of course when you open them up to wash them if they have been there awhile you can smell them, but while they are folded up I don't notice a smell. Just my experience. |

The smell kills me, makes me so nauseous. I used to just put them in the garbage but if we didn't take the garbage out as soon as I put one in then it would smell HORRIBLE. I felt like we were wasting garbage bags. So, I bought a diaper genie. I change her pad daily so I wait 'til I get about 5 or 6 pads in there then take it to the garbage. It's really awesome with containing the smell, the only time I smell it is when I open it to put another pad in. I just spray a bit of air freshner and it's good to go. When she poops, I just flush the poo down the toilet. |

That won't help the OP, though. She wants to know what to do with the washable pads. |

washable I use washable pads as well and usually change it after each use. I flush the poop down the toilet and the pad gets folded and placed in a plastic bag in the laundry room. I usually wash the pads every one to two days when I have enough to make a small load. But I normally don't have any smell in the laundry room. Anna |
I put disposable pads on top of the cloth ones, otherwise I would have to wash them 3 times a day. I can't stand to look at them with poop and pee on them. |
Thank you Thanks you guys. I would just put them in a "for pad only" laundry basket, I don't know if I would wash after only a few pee pees. She's good for one a day like I said. I might try it again-but this time, maybe use a small garbage pail with a lid? Thanks:) I usually flush the #2 also! |
Where can I find the washable pads? Does someone on here sell them? My breeder gave me one that is great but I need more to rotate out for my baby. Preferably light blue like the one she has, because my baby has been associating pee with the color light blue. She has gone on my light blue blanket and a light blue bath towel but thats another story..!! |

I sell them. Click on the link in my signature. |
Well, my hubby said no way are you putting cloth pee pads in a washer where you wash my clothes and wash cloths and dish towels(I have to say I see his point), so, I use disposable and go through about 2-3 a day(I have 4 trained to them) I put them in the garage in the garbage out there. Actually, to my surprise, it never smells out there, but, in the summer time if the door is open, it sure attracks the flies.:( |

Well, I certainly wouldn\'t put them in the same load. But if it would leave your washer dirty then your washer isn\'t doing it\'s job. |
