Searching for a safe playpen
 
Has anyone used a childs playpen for thier furbabies? I am trying to find one that would allow enough room for my girls to play safely in. Any suggestions on what to look for and where to find one?! I don't care for the cages/kennels/play yards that are out there. My older girl can jump and I don't want her to injure herself. They can also get "hung up" in those types (past expereince:( )

I've used a baby playpen until Dolly managed to jump out of there, somehow she learned how to climb up the net and then jump LOL
Then I got her one of those plastic ones with a door, it looked a lil safer than the wire ones to me, plus I liked the fact it has nothing vertical so Dolly cannot climb LOL

That looks really nice. Is it very sturdy? If one of my two year old twin grandsons were to run into it, would the wall collapse? I've been looking for a playpen that we could take when we visit them. My grandsons are good with the babies, but at Christmas, the girls did snap at them, out of fear. Kia and Sydney are older, (10 & almost 13) and they have never snapped at anyone in their lives, but the babies move so quickly, it frightened them. The kids live 6 hours away, so they don't see them often enough to get used to them.

They used to be so good with babies, but, they were much younger when my youngest niece was born.

Have you tried something like this?
I got mine at Meijers and only paid $80 dollars on sale. None of my munchkins can get out and it is big enough for two and you can add panels to it.

I've considered that one, but when we travel, room to pack is at a premium. Now, if my babies would just leave some of their toys and dresses at home.....:D

Did you know it folds down flat? All the panels accordion up so it fits in a small space. I take mine with me when we go camping and the furkids go in there.

I found a similar model at Walmart by Summer Infant. I was drawn to this model because of the actual gate. Other models say in the title "gate" ,but there isn't a gate. It's about $65 and I think it's worth it considering the fact that you don't have to climb over or struggle w/ the yard to get a side open. You can even have the option of opening the gate into a crate.

Yes, but the weight of it is my concern. We take the girls to the beach, as well, as to our sons house, and we lug a lot of stuff with us already. Sheesh. It's almost like taking a couple of babies along again. :D (We wouldn't have it any other way!)

I tried to use a baby playpen and the problem is that if they have an accident, it soaks into the removable floor. I purchased a Home 'N Go Pet Pen and love it. It has a plastic mat that velcros to the bottom and a cloth cover that goes over the mat and is washable. It also has a zipper front door that folds up and velcros so they can go in and out, if you want. I find my girl goes in there to be alone with her toys during the day.
You can google it to find the best price.

I am not sure if this is what you are looking for...
 
.....but at PetCo I found a snap together play yard that so far has worked out well it is four feet high and very sturdy, I raised my two Chows in a baby's playpen but after a month or two it was wrecked. Good Luck.
