Dog hair dye Hi guys. I just had a question. I have been surfing alot of the shopping sites....well, okay all of them, and have seen several pics of dogs with their furnishings and topknots dyed different colors. Have any of you ever done this and is it safe? I know painting toenails is pretty popular and I just wonder if this is sort of the same thing or if the dye would irritate skin and hurt the coat. Thanks, Britt |
You can use food coloring for a temporary color |
I too have heard that food coloring is safe. I know a person with a solid white long haired Chi. This dogs name is Pinky. So....the owner commonly dyes Pinky "pink". Pretty silly really but this dog sure does get attention. LOL I would think as long as the dye cannot harm the coat or skin in anyway or hurt their eyes it might be ok maybe for Halloween or a special situation. Oh and another thing. Please if any members of YT decide to dye their fur babies, Id like to see some pictures. :D |

I would definitley like to see pics too. :D |
I woould think that you could use the colored gells and also the colors like manic panic and that (the kind I use on my and my sons hair is like a jelly so it doesnt run) and it is just a deposit stain so there are no chemicals or that.....however I dont know how well they would be at sitting still to have it on them while it "set" it is hard enough getting my son to sit still for that long....I know im going to do Gidgets little "mohawk" for halloween but I think I am going to just do the colored gel...I dont need hair color alll over the house :P |
hehehe Yeah, pictures would be a must. I was mainly thinking about Halloween too. A mohawk would be awesome! You could get one of those ts that says Monster or something to go with it. |
