Pet Gear SE or Pet Gear Happy Trails? Ok, I posted about this a while back and never made a decision . Now, I HAVE to make one. We're going to the Smokies for our 3 year anniversary and Lillybug is going with, of course :thumbs_up! So, I need a stroller. I'm torn between these 2 Pet Gear strollers:  Pet Gear Special Edition Pet Stroller Happy Trails Deluxe Pet Stroller by Pet Gear I also, of course, have a few questions. Does the Happy Trails stroller have a place inside where you can attach it to her harness? I'm way overprotective and while I most likely won't let her ride in it with it unzipped, there's still a chance and I'd like it to have the strap attachment. Also, it obviously needs to be sturdy, needs to be able to move fairly well (as in takes easy turns, not too heavy for a small girl to push). I know we'll be in and out of places and I don't want something locking up on me. Weather is a question too, how well will they hold up and protect my precious Lilly from rain or other icky weather? :rain::umbrella: Last but not least, storage, as I posted on my last thread, I have a Camry :car: and I need it to fold fairly flat so it can either fit in my trunk or my backseat with our suitcases and all that. I'm sure I'll have to get her used to it, so when I get one should I just take her strolling in it a few times so I don't get to the Smokies and have my trip ruined by her trying to dig a hole in her brand new stroller? :animal37 Ha! Thanks ladies, I know you all will lead me on the right path and not let my moolah go to waste!!! |
I have the special edition and I like it a lot, but I think the other one would probably fold up smaller. Mine takes up most of the space in the back of my SUV. If I had a Camry I'd be leaving it at home :) Hope that helps. (Not to insult your Camry, I'm sure it isn't broken once a month like my Pontiac. :D ) |
Not if I can help a lot, but I have this one and I am pretty sure they are made about the same... Sportster Pet Stroller by Pet Gear I LOVE LOVE LOVE it!! It does have a clip to attach a harness and that is super nice! Moves GREAT! The turning is wonderful and the lock you have to push down with your foot. You do have to use your hand to unlock it as it's a bit hard to do with your foot, but still great :) I think they make a cover for the rain for them, but I dont have that part. I usually use mine for the Pet Expo so people can't step or pick up my dog. Folds pretty flat, but not all the way down. I keep it in my trunk. It is SOO easy to break down and set up. All in all I LOVE it!! |

i like the special edition one. the other one seems like it would be bulky and take up a lot of room in your car. |
oh! i read that the happy trails one doesnt have a leash hook inside and the wheels don't lock but it does fold flat to 15 inches... the picture looked like it was all bulky though. the SE one does have a leash hook & locking wheels.. so lilly doesnt roll away! i really really really like this one PetZip Sports XL Pet Stroller |

We have the Pet Trails in Navy-have had it for 4 years-LOVE IT!!! Folds up nicely, no harness catch inside, but I leave Jaxon's leash on & hold it in my hand while pushing! Can't wait to see your new stroller!!! :thumbup:Hugs-Kay & Jaxon |
1 Attachment(s) we finally got ours last week.....we love it. |
Strollers for dogs Is this an elderly dog? Have you considered one of those dog back packs or front carrying packs instead? Much more easy to pack in your car! Also most national parks, if this is where you are going, will want you to have your dog on a leash anyway. Bells would be good to put on the collar if they are walking so as to warn the bears that you are coming if you go on a nature walk. Other wise you put bells on you somewhere :) Be aware, be safe :) Some places you won't be able to take a stroller anway. Hope you all have a great time! |
