Dry Skin what to do? Hello everyone, Mia I've noticed has dry skin. I normally bathe her witha simple tealess shampoo. Any recomendations please. I'm new owner and want the best for my baby. Shampoo and Conditioner. Thank you Marlene Mia's Mom |
Caylee has dry skin as well...I've bought some oatmeal shampoo and conditioner. I know several had suggested that to me so I'm going to give that a try :) |
I do not use people shampoo on my pups....it tends to dry their skin and hair because of the higher pH. I have used Pet Silk shampoo and conditioner Index and I was happy with it; but recently started using the Tropiclean line and honestly think I like it better. They use all natural ingredients and organic extracts. I would go with the aloe or oatmeal. Their berry scent is wonderful! I am very happy with the results...I have a couple of pups with allergies and they are doing great! Another thing to look at is what you are feeding her....grains can irritate the skin. There is a lot of information on YT about different dog foods. Good luck! |
Hi :). Is she just dry - or is she itching? If so, where? What are you feeding? 1. don't bathe too often - once a week at most; ideally once every 2 weeks. 2. might want to add an Omega Supplement to support skin; this one can be found at lotsa places, incl. Whole Foods. It doesn't contain flax, which makes some dogs itchy. 3. Try a colloidal oatmeal spray to condition and soothe the skin 4. poss. change foods |

Do you think it could be the cold weather ? Well I orederd a shampoo and conditioner lets see what happens |
milu has dry skin as well...i use oatmeal shampoo, oatmeal conditioner, but her skin is still really dry. i put lotion on her belly...probably not the best idea. but i don't see her licking it off. so maybe its ok... i am going to try to add the omega oil to her food. |
* it could be from her diet. what does she eat? * i use a medicated shampoo 1x @ month in winter + add omega oil into his food.. this really helps. |
Olivia had flaky, dry skin and was itchy too. I got some of the Cranberry Fields shampoo and conditioner and it has taken care of those things. |
I Started the food changing process today. From Royal Canin to Natural Choice. I'm hoping for the better. |
squeeze a fish oil supplement over the food I do it daily and it works wonderfully you can get it at most pet stores or at GNC or Super Supplements it also helps hair grow nicely:) |
