Does anyones yorkie like wearing winter boots? Our yorkie Tallulah shivers and shakes almost before we get out the door. We live in Minnesota and with the windshield it can feel like twenty below. A few feet out the door Tallulah freezes and refuses to walk any furthur. She just lays int he snow and starts shivering. I know she will wear a coat and a sweater but her feet get so cold I'm considering boots. Anyone's yorkie like to wear boots? I know some dogs hate them and kick them off. Please let me know any reviews you have on boots for our lovely pups! Thanks!:snowman2: |
YES OUR OLIVERR KICKS THE BOOTS OFF ALSO HE HATES THEM ON AND WE HAVE TRIED SEVERAL DIFFERENT TYPES..THE SOFT ONES WITH THE VELCRO STRAP AROUND THE ANKLE ARE BETTER THAN THOSE HARDER ONES OF LEATHER WITH THE ZIPPERS AND STUFF..U CAN ACTUALLY HURT THEIR LEG WITH THOSE WHEN THEY TRY TO GET THEM OFF.. BUT I THINK THEY GET CONFUSED ALSO WHEN THEY RUN OUT AND THE SNOW IS TALLER THAN THEY ARE AND ALL AROUND THEM AND THEY DO NOT SEE ANY SCENERY TO IDENTIFY WHERE THEY ARE ..SO THEY PANIC AND JUST RUN OR SIT OR IN UR CASE LAY THERE... MANY PEOPLE LOOSE THEIR DOG IN THE SNOW IF HE HAS NO LEASH AND JUST RUNS OFF WITH THE SNOW EVERY WHERE...WHEN WE HAVE ALOT OF SNOW WE DIG A TRENCH FOR HIM TO RUN OUT AND THEN RUN RIGHT BACK IN AND THEN BACK OUT AND SO ON..ONCE THE SNOW AND ICE ARE GONE HE WILL GET OUT MORE :) THE ICE IS ALSO SLIPPERY WHICH CATCHES THEM OFF GUARD AND THEY CAN ALSO EASILY INJURE THEMSELVES ..:animal-pa |
We always have a leash on her so I know we won't lose her in the snow. But she likes walking and often wants to go outside, she just nearly freezes to death when we get out there. |
Gracie won't keep boots on. She kicks them off in 30 seconds. I have not tried them on Holly. She has the personality that she would probably just sit there and look at me like, "Mommy, you have got to be kidding!" |
