Cranberry Fields shampoo by Petzlife!! OPINIONS Please or Recommendations! Need to get shampoo & Conditioner I have done some research and thinking of getting the Cranberry Fields Oatmeal or Lavender by Petzlife. I just wanted a few opinions on this product before i purchase. is this product good or bad or is their any other product that you would recommend. |
I use it on Layla and really like it. it has really improved her skin which was VERY dry. |
Is it really that good? I have tried everything I could find for Koko. Her vet, Dr. Jenn, has even given me different shampoos to try. Her skin just always seems so dry and her hair seems to look "greasy". Also, she tends to scratch a lot. Any recommendations? Thanks so much for any help...:) |

Koko is eating Eukanuba Yorkshire Terrier formula - she started this about 3 weeks ago. Maybe I'm not giving it enough time? |

If i were you i would a) change the food. try a food like Natural balance or Orijen. It needs to be higher quality and should be fish based as far as protien goes. I think this will really help. Eukanuba is not great food and is probably contributing to the probelms then you should start adding Vitmain E and Fish Oils or Omegas 3 and 6 they are GREAT for the skin and coat but i honestly think the food needs to be changed for you to see a big difference. |
Thank you so much - I will give it a try. Anything because I really do not like the way she looks when her hair starts to look greasy! Almost seems like I neglect her! Because she is my first Yorkie, I need all the help and direction I can get - Again, thank you, your help is greatly appreciated...:) |

as for the oils. You need to give Vit E (i buy the capsules and just squeeze 1-2 drops on- same with the Omegas or Fish oils) give it a month or two to notice a difference. And then just get a high quality natural shampoo- I love Cranberry fields! |
Just a BIG Thank you... |
Welcome to YT Richie and b_landry! :) Glad to have you both here! Richie-I don't personally use the Cranberry Fields products, but I know many YT'ers just rave about them, and it's something I'd like to try. B_Landry-Marcerella02 has a great point about the food you're feeding. Skin condition comes mostly from the inside, with a little help from what you do for the outside. Eukanuba is made by Iams-it's not a high quality food. Do some research here on YT and online, and you'll find suggestions for higher quality foods that have more meat and less fillers, which mean fewer allergens. A great reference website is Dog Food Analysis - Reviews of kibble -look for a 4-5 star food, and check out the ingredients in them. 6 star foods are typically too rich for yorkies, and are better suited for larger breed working dogs. It's not the only source of information on food, but it's a great place to start. Many people on YT feed Canidae, Orijen, Natural Balance, and Innova just to name a few commercial foods that people seem to like. (I personally homecook for my two, feeding meats raw, but I am looking for a kibble to feed for some meals, and I will be doing my research here too :) ) Please let us know if you have any questions-many of us have done lots of research on the different foods and particular ingredients, and are glad to help! |
I have already looked and found a supplier for Orijen food - As it turns out, my brother-in-laws ex-wife's Aunt has a pet supply store about 20 miles away and she stocks it! Looks like Koko and I will be taking a road trip tomorrow morning... Thank you again.. Without everyone's help, I would still be floundering about. |

Marcerella02 or Everyone Have you ever herd or even use "Grizzley Salmon Fish Oil" do you think that would be good for my yorkie. Im also feeding my pup Wellness super 5 mix would that be good kibble? I havent started to brush my pup as yet being he is 3 months and was thinking of starting would you guys recomend some brushes & combs that would be easy to find as well? |
I think that salmon oil would be a great supplement for skin and coat. I personally use flax oil (also has omega 3's) because I don't like the fishy smell-but many use fish oil without a problem. You could start with that and see how it goes. Wellness is a good food-I haven't used it myself, but have heard good things about it from those who do use it. Most people swear by Chris Christiansen brushes and combs for their yorkies-especially for the silky, long coats. |

Diffently worth a try! We had a dry skin issue and I believe that things have improved since we have used the oatmeal shampoo and conditioner from PETZ LIFE. I have used lots of ( the others) and really think things have improved using this. Alison ;) |
