Josi goes to Nice, France Hi My name is Josi. I am six year old. I weigh about five pounds. I am told I am very very sweet but I have NEVER traveled on an airplane . I hear it about eight hours. What should I tell my mom and dad about the flight. Any tips? what kind of travel bag should I get. Please help me. I want to travel and be comfortable under the seat Love Josi |
I think that the Sherpa bag is accepted by most airlines. Also, make sure you have an absorbable matt, enough doggie wipes (they will poo if they are in their bag for too long), wee wee pads, Nutrical, food, etc... I would also put a small blanket with your smell on it... I know that someone makes nice travel blankets & bedding here. include a Nylabone or little toy to keep her entertained... that's all I can think of at the moment! |
I don't know what airline you'll be traveling on, but if you tell the flight attendants that you have a dog with you and being a small dog, they might even allow you to take her out of her bag as long as she is good on your lap. I was allowed to take my baby boy out of the bag and it was only a two hour flight! I don't see why they wouldn't, who can resist a yorkie face? also, getting a carrier that is flexible and can fold is a great help because it allows the bag to collapse a little to fit under the seat, and will not squish your little one! I hope you have a good flight and I'm jealous I can't go with you! :p |
I have the sherpa Bag it is great and comfortable and big. |
I have over 20+ doggie carriers --- yes, I'm obsessed with them, and I LOVE the bags by Teafco (World Famous Pet Products by TEAFCO). I have three of their carriers: ARGO Petaboard both in style A & B ARGO Aero-Pet Carrier (good for 2 yorkies). These bags are light and easy to carry, and they are one of the best-designed bags I've seen. They are excellent for travel, and I feel that my Yorkies (I travel with two) are very safe in them. Even though your baby might be calm, it can be helpful to bring some natural calming aids (such as Bachs, or calming pet treats) I like Pet Calm from Pet Naturals of Vermont. Calming For Small Dogs - Softchews, Supports Stress Reduction Before the trip, help your baby become accustomed to her carrier by putting her in it daily, and carry her around the house or on short errands. Make every experience in the carrier fun and pleasant. Good luck and keep us posted on your trip! :-) |
