Question about Pet Silk Topknot... When I put bows in my girls the hair gets matted. Will this product help that? Thanks Melissa |
That happens to Zoe too, I'd be interested in knowing if this would help as well! |
Are you asking about the Petsilk topknot gel? It will hold stray hairs in place. But the matting is most likely because of them rubbing, scratching, sleeping, etc. and the gel won't help that.:) |
I don't think Petsilk Topknot gel will help you with this. It has the consistency of honey, and is used to keep those pesky short hairs that aren't long enough for the topknot yet, out of their eyes. Is the matting occurring around the rubber band? Could it be too tight? I use Bio-Groom Spray Set Texturizer on the actual topknot. Joey's hair is very fine, and it seems to thicken it up without stiffening it, and it's supposed to promote smoothness of the hair. We haven't had any problem with matting, but I don't know if the spray is helping protect or not. |
Thanks If I don't put it up tight it comes out. I wonder if the barettes would work better? |
There's a difference between too tight and tight. I have different size bands, and with one band I can only twist once, and it's tight enough, if I twist three times, it would be too tight, however with other bands I need to twist three time. You should make sure that there is room between the band and the scalp by using a comb to slide between. Finding the right size band for their particular hair type can be a challenge. When I use barrettes, I always use them in conjunction with a band, there is not way Joey would keep a barrette in alone, even his Detroit Red Wings barrette! |
