Good Pet Stairs? Anyone have pet stairs for their bed that they like? I just got a new bed and it is too high for Scooter to jump on and off of. It is 32' high. I am hoping someone has a tall set of stairs (or a ramp) that they would recommend to others. I have looked at all the local places and none of them have steps high enough. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for all your help! |
If you know someone who is good at woodwork and carpeting, you can have someone make a good sturdy set for you. Right now we have plastic $10 ones that I bought at Walgreens and I've got through 2 of them because they've broken but my grandfather will be making us a set of wooden ones. |
3 Attachment(s) I use the Scamp ramp and love it. I but it along side the bed and my dtr's bed and they only use that to go up and down. I think they were about 90.00 each with a cover. The cover on now is one that Sonya of Pocomut made for me and it matches the crate cover. I also have the stairs that my husband made and carpeted that we use to make a little sitting area by my bedroom windows. |

I got plastic steps at Bed Bath and Beyond and Keoki loves them- they are pretty tall because my bed is high and I think they are great- I paid about $40.00 for them. |
A while ago, I posted a thread too about pet stairs.. I too, have a very high bed. After looking around, I found these "Microsuede pet steps" at GW Little. There light (wont damage floors) and the cover comes off for washing! Oh, and there are many different colors and sizes to choose from. We have the "5 step" in pink. Dog Steps - GW Little |

I think the Pet Gear steps are neat too and they come in several colors. Here is the LInk: If you order through that link, there is free shipping too. :D Here is a website on my link page that has some really nice steps too: Fu Fu Fashions Custom Made Dog Clothes - pet steps |
I bought some nice handmade ones from eBay. I think I paid $75- maybe a bit more. I have some of the ones from Walgreens but they aren't very well made. They move around so easily and the cover always looks dirty. The first set of stairs that I bought from Walgreens were actually broken and a piece was broken. If you can, I would suggest investing in a nice set of stairs. I've had the ones that I got from eBay for a couple of years now. ETA: I believe I bought them from this seller: eBay Seller: topdogsteps: Pet Supplies, Home Garden items on eBay.com |
drs foster and smith makes high ones and they are carpeted so they match our carpet perfectly we also bought some on ebay for down stairs for the couches |
I'm a fan of the ladogcompany.com pup stairs. They make very good quality covers for their foam. It's super easy to take it off to wash and put puppy pads on the stairs, just in case. Mr Belvedere peed on his stairs and the cover is so thick it soaked it up, nothing on the foam! All I had to do was pop the cover in the wash and spray the foam with cleaner. |
I got mine from walmart 2 years ago and they're perfect for Bentley. He has a hard time now jumping up and down on the bed and these stairs work great. They're the perfect size. |
The ones I got for the pups are 26" high; each of the 5 steps is 5.5" deep with a 4.5" rise. They are 12" wide. I put the stairs so they are parallel to the bed (i.e., on the 12" side) so they don't take much room, at the foot of the bed. The steps are perfect for the Yorks ... it fits their stride to a "T". They come tearing into the bedroom, charge up the stairs, take a short hop to the top of the mattress and sit their like the King and Queen they know are :D. The stairs are higher than the foot of the bed, but still a bit short of the mattress top, but it's not a problem. |
I got these: Pet Steps She has a habit of running up and down and I worried about something tipping over, so I opted for the heavy stairs.:D |
I got 5 foam ramps from here: Foam Guys  And I covered them with fabric, I used T pins (from walmart) to hold the fabric to the foam (on the bottom side). Then I bought from walmart the foam/like liner (shelf or draw) and lined down the ramp for Traction Control (hahahahaha) |
