harness what is your favorite? not looking for a fashion statement, just something that's easy to use and comfortable for pup. I would like to be able to keep it on shelby all the time since I am afraid of collars. I keep buying different ones but not thrilled with any of them. does anyone have this one?http://www.drsfostersmith.com/produc...m?pCatId=13149 |
2 Attachment(s) How big is shelby? My favorite is this tiny breed mesh harness and I have tried them all! It is a little bit pricier than the nylon ones ($28.99) but it is really comfortable, practical and easy to use. Another really popular one that is easy to use is the all in one step-in harness. It adjusts to your dogs weight, is leather and made wonderfully. Those are the 2 that I recommend. I have used and purcahsed several and when I have spent less they havent lastet as long as the ones that were really nice. |
Oops the all in one might not be the best if you want to keep it on all the time because it does have a leash, which is how it adjust to their body :) The tiny breed mesh is great though bc its really light and comfortable for the dog. I dont mind leaving it on mine, but the nylons I dont bc I feel like they itch a lot with them. |
We use the ones from Petsmart, the work great and come in several colors...we bought the xsmall for both of our girls and they are comfortable in them!! The only thing with the Lil Pals ones is once you puppy gets bigger they will quickly grow out of those, they are really tiny!! But I know there are lots of different kinds you just have try them and find out which one works best for you little one!! |
i bought a pink and black polka dot one from www.tinkerbellscloset.com it was about 14 dollars and its super easy to velcro..but not easy to get out of unless you undo it yourself! i highly recommend it! |

thanks for all of your ideas. |
Brooke, do you know if the tiny breed mesh harness causes much matting? Thanks. :aimeeyork Sheila |
Well it hasnt for me, but then again every yorkie has a different coat. Haley's hair is long and she does just fine in the vest, in fact I can leave it on them all day and they dont rub against the carpet trying to get it off like they do with their other harnesses :) I guess it just depends on the dog, but it really shouldnt. |
I remember seeing the step in harness somewhere online for a very reasonable price, I'm gonna search it and post later. |
I also have step-ins that include a matching leash, they are in several different colors for $19.99. Oh and they are not nylon, they are this soft fuax suede material |

Thank you. she has a step in now but I am very interested in seeing others. so many issues to deal with. comfort, safety, ease. I just want something to hang her ID tag on :D |
Yeah those are made wonderfully! (the suede ones that you are speaking of). |
buddy belts are great, they only go around their legs, so if your worried about you babies neck its great. sadie has one and loves it. its leather and adjustable, a bit expensive but worth it http://www.buddy-belts.com |

oh yes the one peice's are a little more pricey, but they are seriously amazing :D You dont have to worry about attaching the leash once the harness is on and since they adjust to your dogs body you dont have to worry about it ever fitting! Plus they are really cute, made out of leather with a little crocodile bone |
There are two that I use. For day-to-day, I use one made by Susan Lanci. It's UltraSuede and is SO adorable. http://www.gwlittle.com/product.php?id=355 The other I use for more dress up occasions is made by Bella. It's a harness & a dress all in one! http://www.glamourdog.com/havebehe.html I know, they are both bit pricy. But looking good doesn't come cheap! |

Now that looks interesting, plus I can actually try one on her at a store near me. Thank you! |

Yeah I agree Sheila :) It really is an awesome "contraption" lol, plus it comes in cute colors (which are hard to find with step-ins), lime, pink, black, gold/bronze. |

Is step-in harness with the matching leash in faux suede that you carry, made by Gooby? I wanted to find out before I order a couple from you. I saw them in a boutique in the mall and they are so-o-o soft. I don't think they would cause much matting behind the front legs, like the nylon step-in's. Sheila |
Me and Brody just bought a new harness. Okay, I guess I bought it. It is velcro on the neck and body. Brody doesn't run from me when I go to put it on him, which is new and exciting. His previous harness had to go over his head and Brody HATED taking it off. The velcro pulls his hair a little bit when I take it off, but its not bad. It has a lot of support on the body, so not good for training because he could care less if I pull on him or not. They have a lot of velcro harness at this store: http://gallery.bcentral.com/Gallery/...4019%20&Page=1 (this links you to the harness page). On this same page is Brody's previous harness: the freedom harness. I really liked it, except for the pulling on his head aspect of it all. He felt really safe in it though. The harness I bought Brody was $50 which is ridiculous, I think, but it also has my college design on it. Here's a picture of Brody with his harness on: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/att...chmentid=15809 |

I looked at the "Freedom" harness in the boutique today, but I could just picture my girls reaction to putting it over their little heads. They'd react just like Brody! I think I am going to get the faux suede step-in's because they're so soft, and they can easily be adjusted to go over their little coats in the winter. Your little Brody is so cute! :aimeeyork Sheila |
Hi Sheila, the step-ins are by gooby, pink and blue being the most popular colors :) |
Minnie also has a Buddy Belt and I love it also. |
