I bought this little toy at the dollar tree. Razael is the only one of the girls who loves toys, so she was quietly playing with this one when I heard her crunching something and I pulled out a piece of plastic from her mouth and found a few more on the floor. This toy was stuffed with plastic instead of 100% polyester as states on the tag. Made in China. Just wanted to let everyone know NOT to buy this.

I just heard that hoses 'made in china' have lead in them and when laying outside in the heat all day, lead can go into the water....I fill my babies pool with fresh water everyday and they drink it !!!!!!!! It'll have to be tap water from now on..

That's just one more "Thanks, China!" I don't want anything made there.

Nice that you posted this for everyone. What a disaster waiting to happen!

Thanks so much for the warning, I've gotten Lilly a few toys from the Dollar Tree before. Thank goodness your baby didn't swallow any of it.

All hoses have lead in them unless you buy the RV/Camper hose that says "safe for drinking"

I think it's interesting that people will buy a toy for $1 that is junk but complain that prices for things made in the USA or tested for lead/contaminants are too expensive. I'm not sure we can have it both ways.

(Not singling you out... I've noticed this over quite some time...)

We have these toy's only one of my dog's play with it because he doesn't destroy toy's
Almost all dog toy's have something with it where they can get hurt dog's should not play with anytoy's while you are not there.
Btw this toy is a cat toy not made for dog's.

I kind of thought it looked like a cat toy, but my little one loves the toys that have long legs, arms or both and is getting Azrael and Zada interested in tugging with her. Anyway, I don't think "any" pet toy should have hard plastic pieces of plastic in them. I don't know what would have happen if she had eaten that plastic if I had left the room or she carried it somewhere else, as she usually runs all over the house with a toy in her mouth and doing her play growls to entice the others to play. I parish the thought.

It doesn't matter to me if a toy is $20.00 or $1.00. I don't look at prices, I just see what I know she would love to play with. I posted this just as a warning, whether you have a cat or a dog, this toy is a possible death trap.

Cat's can't chew threw toy's & they enjoy the crinkle sound so most cat toy's have it.
I'm also pretty sure it say's cat toy or even has a cat picture on it.

Darling but deadly.:eek: My Pommie destroys toys all the time. Always have to keep an eye on him. He loves to get the squeakers out. Man, he's a mess! Love him bunches, though.:D

I was just thinking about how it got to the dollar store. Someone a while back posted about how they bought a dog sweater at the dollar store that had 3 leg holes, or maybe 2 leg holes and a hole for the tail but it was on the wrong side. A lot of that stuff is 'seconds' or imperfect. I would be very cautious buying a toy from there or anywhere that isn't actually taking the time to make sure it's safe or at least well constructed!

If they love tug toys try braided fleece. Mine love tugging with those silly things. Their favorite toy is my sock. :eek:

Thanks for the warning. I can see myself buying that toy for the very same reason you did - Little Pi'i LOVES toys and if they have long dangly parts he can get Hoku & Kalani to play tug-o-war with him:)

It's funny, but I LOVE the honey sold at the dollar tree, and is why we go there once in awhile. The honey comes in the little bear shape bottle, BUT it isn't "clover" honey which I find far too sweet anyway, and this one tastes a bit like buckwheat honey only much milder. I love camomile tea with this honey in it. ;)

And the warning is appreciated! I buy some of my babies' toys at the Dollar Tree, but, no matter where the items are purchased, we should be on the lookout for danger! Thanks again. :)

These yorkies love to chew and you sure have to watch them with anything you get. But its also up to us to watch where we buy them as the construction is put togeather as well when we buy places that are getting what they can for cheaper prices. Not that high prices prevent accidents. But they aren't in business for pets. You really have to be careful as most places will put pet stuff togeather and things get moved around. Its lucky that you caught it before it was a serious accident.

made in china things (everything, from food to toys) are not very well made...
they are very dangerous and have many poisons and other harmful things in them... so everyone should watch out...
