That's great your going to carry these. They are truly awsome. How about the camo. I ordered that this am along with the black that came yesterday. It's another choice for the boy's anyhow. It was $4.00 extra so you know but I think it's worth it. A little dresser. :p |
Another question, since Pao is 10 pounds, should I order the Medium or Large? |

fit Buddy perfectly with room for sweater's in the fall. I don't remember what the size in lbs was for M but it had to be maybe 6-10lbs. Your guy is right between. Give them a call. Their # was on a card they sent me: 530-541-2322 if you prefer. They are in CA |

I've had puppia for years and I am a retailer of puppia as well. I actually have a size L in black soft harness in puppia somewhere in my office. I have to look for it. But I recently got some ChokeFree harness and found that I love those better. I can tell the difference because my Naboo who is 14 lbs pulls like a husky. When she has the Puppia on, she likes to drag with it, and she gets out of breath and gets more tired so much faster. I can see that she puts allot of strength in her neck area because the the neck part goes all the way to her shoulders area when she's pulling. When she has the ChokeFree on, she doesn't pull as much and the chokefree stays in place. She just looks more comfortable in it than with the puppia on. I have pictures of the differences of her wearing puppia and the chokefree, I just need to extract it from my phone. :D |
Carol - do you like the traditional one with the strap and side clip or the vest style? I really like the vest style with the 2 D-rings and velcro. Loki is 12 lbs (17 inch chest) and the large fits him. I got a medium on him but it was a little bit tight. The large has room to spare but it fits securely too. Since the medium did fit Loki I would say if you have 10 pounder you would probably be OK with the medium. |

I bought the traditional one (2) because it's cooler than the vest for the summer months and will fit over his sweaters in the winter. Plus I'm not a happy camper with velcro. Bud pulls when he sees a big dog and I feel confident with the side clip. I am sure both are nice. I really like this harness. |

They look nice also. I just feel more secure with the soft harness and no I have control over my dog when needed. He is large also and I have two similar to those and he got out of one rolling in the grass. His leg came threw somehow and free he was! The material on the soft harness is so soft it only goes across his chest and no where near his throat. I am sure both are great harnesses. I guess getting the perfect fit is key also. Thanks for your information on those harnesses. |

Soft material that he stepped into. It was adjusted on either side with a slide clip. The two D rings came together at the top and leash clipped on. Just like the choke free harness you mentioned but was not that brand. I have two and am afraid to use them again because of this. |
Oh I see. Yup, I got one of those adjustable "Choke Free" you've described too and the thing I don't like about those is that the material is so thin. Imagine your pulling and those thin materials are going into your skin, I bet that just hurts! Especially the chest area. Also the middle/cheat area is adjustable and I can see how one can get freed from it. But the ChokeFree brand name is not adjustable and made out of leather so its comfortable and is very secure. Also, the puppia works well over clothes, since the neck area isn't adjustable, I found that its more secure when the furbutts are wearing a sweater or a hoodie. ;) Quote:

Good thought and I never thought about it. The fabric being thin and possibly going into the skin! Geez, your try and protect one thing and you cause possible pain someplace else. Yes, that's the kind I had. I will certainly keep that ChokeFee leather step in in mind if these don't work for me. Thanks once again for all the info on them. Never saw them before but good to know they exist. |
Oh your welcome, anytime. ;) Believe me, I have a chest full of harnesses. I have them all! Puppia, gooby, harnesses from Target/walmart, no-pulling harness, I can go on and on and I am always finding something wrong with them, I'm just too picky! The doggies don't care though, seems as if I wiggle any type of harness in their face they get excited no matter which harness it is. Quote:

I have to take one at a time into the bathroom or bedroom to get the harness on correctly - WHY oh why can't they just STAY and step in like little ladies ????? :D:D |
