dog litter boxes...please help me understand ok so...i went to a friends house and they had the coolest gadget, it was for their cats a really cool litter box...and when a cat would step in and use the bathroom as soon as it left...an arm sweeped across the top and pushed the clumpy stuff into a little bin in the front...and when it got full all they had to do was pick up the bin and dump it and put it back. but this kept the odor down becuase right after they would use it it would sweep the clumps away. and spray a little air freshner in the air too. i know right??? you could almost imange the old days of scooping. ANYWAY could i do that with a dog litter??? would it be too good to be true?? i mean...would anything be more difficult or change for dogs?? give me feedback also if you have used the dog litter boxes and tell me what they are like...pros and cons of it. thanks guys!!! |
They sell dog litter and boxes, but I'm not sure about the litter. I heard some puppies play with the litter because it's not natural for them. I bought the purina dog litter box for my Bengi and I put a pee pad inside, that where he goes and he got used to it. A lot of people here use pee pads, alone, with the pee pad holder, or inside a box. I'm not sure many people here use the dog litter |
I'm another potty pad in the litter box person. I've never tried the litter. |
Dog litter I use the litter box and its awesome. I started out with the pads but change to the litter box after going to Petsmart. You can get the litter box and the litter from Petsmart. The only con I have is removing the litter which is no problem compared to having to take her outside every morning, noon and night. I recommend the litter box to anyone. |
We use a litterbox, but we also use pad and not the litter. I don't know if that would work, because the dog litter that I've seen is not like cat litterl. It's like pellets. We didn't want to use that because I was afraid they would try and eat it! My brother's dog eats it! |

The only time my yorkie eats the litter is when she is bored. If she is locked up for a long period of time. She will get bored and play with her litter not eat it. |
I use the Purina Litter Boxes with the Pee Pads inside too. I don't recommend using the 'cat litter' though, it is too small, they can eat it, they can track through the house while playing with it, and most important being so small, it can make its way inside the 'private area' and cause problems, not worth it :thumbdown |
I use the Purina dog litter. I agree I wouldn't use the cat litter just because the mess it can make. |
hum....ok good comments...i think ill stick to what im doing now. and if i ever need to change...then ill most likely switch..it just sounded really cool to have your dog pee or poo in an automatic litter cleaner. but probably too good to be true. |
