Solvit Pet Booster Seat I know most of you use the Snoozer My Buddy Car Seat but it's really expensive and I can't really afford that right now. Has anybody ever used the Solvit Pet Booster? It looks pretty neat. http://www.pettravelcenter.com/products/detail/101/23 I think I may get one of these if I can find some good reviews.. |
I do not trust that type myself.. I think the dog is up to high if sitting in the front seat.. the ones that are high and sit high in the back seats I have two of them.. they have the suitcase under it.. which gives the height, a little more expensive but worth it... |
I had one similar to that one from another maker. It was good...no problems at all. I got the other one now because I wanted to move her to the console because I needed the seat....lol. It worked well and was fine. The bottom line is your baby is strapped in and in a safe spot when your driving. I got my snoozit for $50: http://www.petco.com/product/13417/S...-Lookouts.aspx |
I made my own carseats, others have too. Do a search on this forum and see what comes up. |
Someone just gave me the Solvit car seat exactly like your pic! I haven't tried it yet though. She said her dogs would have nothing to do with it but when I try it with Zoe, I will let you know. :) |

1 Attachment(s) Today was Scooters first ride in his carseat (Solvit) and he loved it. There is plenty of room for him to lay down (as can be seen on another pic in my profile) and I think it will also be big enough for two (I just need an extra clip-on). |

My Kasey was 10 pounds and i don't think it would two of her but it would hold two that are 4-5lbs. I can't remember what the stats were for this carrier. I would have to look it up online. |
I would like 2~ of these car seats or 2 similar, I would like the biggest available, but of course dollars matter right now, "Daughters Wedding!!!" Does anyone have any 2 sell? Or best finds out there they can share? I need the safety leash as in the summer they will be in the back of my convertible...Thanks, Yvonne |
I have both seats. A Solvit and the Snoozer. The Snoozer is really worth the extra money. It is actually strapped in with your seat belt and another strap is wrapped around the seatbelt to hook to your baby's harness. The Solvit is not as securely attached to your seat. I don't think it's even meant as a safety device. I stand to be corrected, but I believe it's just meant to serve as a booster. Sadly, if you have front air bags, your baby would probably be hurt or even killed from the force. I've read it's safest for your pet to ride in the middle of the back seat. My opinion is the Snoozer is well worth the extra money.:) |
I agree that the Solvit is not as secure as some others, which is why I also secure with the seatbelt in addition to the attaching straps. My passenger airbag stays off when the seat is vacant. The Solvit rests above the seat so there is no weight to activate the airbag. |
I just got the snoozer carseat. I really like it because mine tends to rest his head on the side of it and the seat is very cushiony so I feel better when he has his neck on the side of it.:) |
Did I understand that air bags don't deploy if theres no weight on the seat? Is that for all cars? I put Coopers car seat in the back because of airbags, but he would rather ride up front. |
I have a Solvit too and have my seat belt that goes around the front to secure it in addition to the strap that comes with the car seat. My two fit in the medium one. Murphy is 7 pounds and Mia is 3 pounds. I bought mine at a pet expo so I was able to ask the guy who sold it to me for an extra harness hook which comes in handy with both of mine. I also have no one who rides with me in most cases so it sits in my passenger side seat most times. Murphy and Mia love it - especially nosey little Mia since she just loves to look out the window, Murphy generally lays down and sleeps. Oh and I have my airbags on their side turned off. :) |
