Yorkie Coats!!! I posted this in health and diet... but I thought since it includes products, I would give it a try here. So I have two puppies, and one of the coats is really really taking its time to grow in... I want to boost the growth if its possible... Can anyone recommend pills (vitamins)/syrup/shampoo/cream that could help the coat grow more and be shinier and healthier?? Thanks in advance for all info!!! Kristina: Daisy and Jake's Mommy |
Missing Link!!! It worked wonders for my two!;) |
I use Missing Link and love it too! I mix it with their dry kibble in the morning, they eat it right up. Good food is important too...I noticed a huge difference once I switched them to Canidea! (sp) |
Thank You!! Isabel and Jen218 thanks so much... can i get that at a pet store, or do i have to get it from my vet?? Thanks, cant wait to start and later see the difference!! |
You can get it at petsmart, or online... almost anywhere!;) Just buy a small bag, or divide it and freeze half of it, because it should be used in a certain amount of time... (3 months from opening or so???) I froze a lot and I just keep refilling the sprinkler container... Hope that helps!;) |
Yeepp Yepp, that helps a lot thanks so much! i guess im taking a trip to PetSmart tomorrow... it cant upset their tummies, can it? or should i check with a vet just to be safe before starting them on it? |
Try Salmon Oil, it is great for the skin and coat!! And make sure you are using a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner when you give them a bath. |
More than upset the tummies in a bad way, I would say start sprinkling little by little, because it has some kind or fiber, it may make them have soft stools at the begining... but it is worth the couple days of trouble!!!!!! soon they will be used to it, and the change in the coat is unvelievable!!!;) |

LOL, anytime!!! |
I believe I bought some from PetEdge...as they were a cheaper price. Each package has an expiration date and once opened, it needs to be used within 3months. I have never tried freezing it, as we use it in the big dogs food too, so it is pretty much gone by then. I believe the package tells you what amount to start out w/ by the pound of dog...I think (I can't remember) it was 1/8 tsp? Is that right? ....anyway, just use a little and then work your way up to the amount stated for the size of dog. I think there are two different formulas, one is normal and one w/ glucosamine (sp) (for healthy joints). I strongly suggest feeding a good quality dog food as well. May I ask what you are feeding? I say this because I noticed a HUGE difference in Mojo's hair from switching from Nutro Natural Choice (many years ago) to Canidea! |
