Puppy Pad Quality I noticed that the price of puppy pads range from 5$ - 30$ a set. What is the difference between the cheaper and more expensive? Any favorites in here that your puppy's like? |
I buy the economy case from jefferspet.com. I don't see any difference other than pricing. I have no problems with theirs and tend to order two cases at a time. |
I use the gridlock pads and that is the only brand I would use. To me they are much better than some of the cheaper ones I have tried. I made the mistake of trying new ones and went through a case of 100 and my sister still had about 50 gridlock pads left when I was done. The cheaper ones leak and have to get changed more often, so to me I really dont end up saving money because I have to buy more quicker. |
Wow.. talk about fast responses. I just asked my mother the same question and she pointed out that she noticed the more expensive ones than what i was buying absorbed a lot better. There's one point. Anything that will attract the puppy's more? |
Never had a problem with the ones from jeffers...matter of fact my 3 year old had to go pee bad and his silly sister was using the bathroom and jokingly told him to pee on the pad...sure enough he did. No leaks...lol. Boy did I want to smack them both up. If your pup doens't care much for the pad you can always take one and wipe up his mistake so his smell is on it. Then take him to the pad and let him smell it and tell him that is where you want him to potty. That is what I do. |

Reusable-washable Pads Believe it or not, I am hooked on the washable pads. Emmy was shredding the disposable pads. She is only 4 lbs, but she shredded them like she was a big bear. The trainer at PetSmart recommended that I try one. I bought one there, and it worked...no more shredding. But it cost about $20 per pad, and I wanted to have a few available. I ordered them from PersonallyPaws.com, and I spray the solution from Petsmart on them. They are great! Now with these pads, she uses them consistently. I have a few around the house. I wash them every 2 days. I never would have thought that I would use these, but I think it is a much better solution. |
I actually use bedpads I buy at Sams. THey are a lot larger. I have them on a tray and it works out great for us. More area for her to go to as she will only step on the clean portions. I rinse the tray out a couple of times a week. |

I use the washable pads. I buy mine from www.valethics.com . They offer both new pads and high quality leak proof pads that are reclaimed from the health care industry, throughly cleaned and offered for sale at very low prices. They aren't much to look at, but for my purposes that's ok. I do want to mention that there are several members who make decorative washable pee pads. Hopefully they will hop in and give you a link to their siges. |
I recently purchased washable pads from Little Bit (here on YT). They are really nice. I think that they are very absorbant.... I have noticed that we don't have the problem with wet paws near as bad. ........ really pretty prints to choose from, too!!........ |
