Holy cow! Shipping prices for PetEdge
 

Wow, petedge has some great stuff, but BOY is shipping expensive. when I was checking out my cheapest choice for shipping prices was ups ground $33.99! The next choice was ups 3day at $75! WHat the heck!!!!!! I went with ups ground. But I got myself some of the glocoat. This stuff better be good. I also got some cute items to sell. But good night. NOt the type of place you want to place a small order. The ups overnight shipping price was 2 times the cost of my total. And my total wasnt cheap. Crazy!

Same thing happened to me! If you do not order at least 60.00 you even get a surcharge. It is ridiculous! I also posted a thread about this about a month ago.

I knew to buy more than $60. And I understand that it is because they are a wholesale company that prefers to sell to retailers in bulk and thats wy they are so cheap. But I buy lots of items from lots of companies as part of my business and they just had the most ridiculous shipping I have ever seen. I went back and bought even more stuff just so I wouldnt have to place an order again for awhile. They made me broke! :D

I placed an order of $47.64 and my shipping came to $7.20 for a total of $54.84. Granted, I don't pay taxes because I am overseas (APO). I guess regular USPS priority is not an option if you have a CONUS address?

I had the exact experience but i got my stuff last nite, and let me tell you, it's all top quality and I love the glocoat!! It was worth the shipping when i was looking at the retail cost of the stuff on other sites, Pita got the Pink Diva shirt and it is so well made!

I've been ordering from Pet Edge for over 6 years - they USED to have a 5 dollar surcharge if you order over 50.00 - and shipping was pretty reasonable - did they change ? That must be how they make up for their low prices - it seems no one (the big sites) has good deals anymore - it's all about gouging the consumer -

I have not ordered from Petedge in about 6 months, but I never paid more than $6 for shipping. Most of my orders were for about $60 and I was not charged a surcharge. I have not ordered recently due to some tight finances. But I was pleased with the products and the shipping costs, it was still way cheaper than the stores. Course I have two yorkies, and since what one gets the other also gets, it is really easy to get over $50 in items.

I've been ordering from Pet Edge for a little over 1 year and I agree, the shipping prices are outrageous. But I continue to order from them because I like to order my dog's toys in bulk. My last order was about 1 month ago and I spent $60 on toys - you can't even IMAGINE how many toys I was able to buy for $60. If I bought toys from my local pet shop, $60 would get me about 10 toys because they're so expensive. But I ordered over 40 toys on Pet Edge. :D

My last order from PetEdge was about $90 and the shipping was $17! I was pretty shocked because when I placed an order a few months ago of about $100 the shipping was only $8. I love PetEdge but those shipping costs are a little on the high side for me. I usually end up buying the same stuff from King Wholesale because most items qualify for free shipping and their handling charge is only $5 for orders under $100. I also like Valley Vet because they also offer free shipping.

That's strange because I order from Petedge all the time and the shipping isn't as high as they got you for. The most I have ever paid for shipping with them is $12. Did your order weigh a lot? Also, if your order does not meet the minimum amount, they tack on another charge. I usually wait until I go over their minimum amount, by making a list of things I need.

My last order to petedge was just over $60, shipping was about $20. But 1 item I ordered was $25 cheaper that at Pest Mart, so for me well worth the shipping charges.

That's strange Shana - my orders usually total about $75 and the shipping is never more than $10 for UPS Ground. I believe the stuff comes from Massachussetts, so its not like I am that close either.

It has to be based on weight. I ordered $140 worth of stuff so I defiently went over the $60 amount. I did order a bunch of the small princess dog food bowls so they must be heavy. I do love thier prices dont get me wrong. BUt I did a "mock " order a few weeks ago to see what they would charge for shippping and it wasnt half that so I am kinda ticked. The other wierd thing is that the food bowls are back ordered so maybe they charged me shipping twice knowing they would have to ship those later? I would have waited then. I dont know. $34 is Kinda high for 1 week shipping in my opinion. Other than the dishes I just bought the doggles and glocoat? Those arent heavy. ANd none of those items are large by any means.

I am kinda sick of all the wholesale companies(not just pet companies) charging me processing fees and HIGH shipping fees. Its enough money to not consider them wholesale. ANd I am not referring to pet edge b/c honestly thier prices are sooooo cheap that its worth the $34 shippping. I have been dealing with a lot of craft/fabric, raw materail type wholesalers :mad: that charge me $15 for a small package of rhinestones. Teeny tiny weightless rhinestones. I know for a fact it would cost $3.85 to 2-3 day priority mail with usps.
