I dare her to climb out of this! Here is a link to the ex pen I ordered for my little Holly, who seems to think she is a cat and can climb her way out of, or into, anything! I'll let you know how it works out. I should have it by Friday. http://www.amazon.com/Richell-94115-Pet-Playpen-90... |

How high is that? If it's under 34" I bet she can. Buddy would have no problem getting over that! |
|
It seems awfully small. No room for water dish, bed and pee pad and much more expensive than the metal ex pens. Couldnt you just put a sheet over the top of the metal one? I did that when Zada was a baby and it stopped her from trying to climb out. ;) |
|
 Simon's a climber too :) I wish you luck~ |
|
Good Luck:rolleyes: I think she might be able to, Koda is a jumper and she had no problem with that height:eek: |
|
I wish you the best of luck....Barney is not a climber....He is a jumper.. He has cleared the playpen...The baby gate....The ottoman...Never touches them...Just clears it.... Joyce |

It is about 3 foot square, should be just big enough for the amount of time she spends in there. The ones we have now are either 3 or 4 foot square. I set them up to be about 2 x 6'. I have watched her. She climbs the metal ex pens. She cannot jump that far, at least not yet. With the plastic, there is no place to get a foot hold to climb out. |

pen I used to board Yorkies..a serious climber can jump up in the corner, hook their two front legs over the edge and pull themselves out...if she is not a jumper you will be okay...make sure the bedding is very flat..a bed with sides will be used to stand on and a jumper can get out... |

my chorkie has been able to jump out of anything that lower then my kitchen counters since she was 4 months old. we call her leapin lola |
|
It look very nice:) good luck with it;) |
|
The new pen is not yet here. I put the soji screen on top of her ex pen and blocked off any potential gaps. I left for a few hours, came back and darn it. She still got out! I can't figure out where! or how! She must have a star trek transporter "Beam me out, Scotty". From now on, it is locked up in the crate, at least until the new expen arrives. |
|
So Far, So Good! The pen arrived. Super easy to assemble. It is just big enough. Poor little Holly is very mad because she can no longer climb out, at least not yet. I'm crossing my fingers, toes, paws and anything else I can find to cross! |

I totally need one of these!! Mocha is quite the little escape artist, too :p Quote:

LOL! Good luck with that:aimeeyork Let us know how it works out. |

Dang nab it! It took her 3 months, but she finally did it. She climbed out of this this morning. Not once, but 3 times! She gets in the corner, jumps and puts her paws over the edges, then somehow pulls herself out. I am at my wits end. I am ready to try a pet tent. I thought about using a baby play pen turned upside down. Do you think she would chew through the sides of that? |
|
OH my!!!...... Houdini Holly is so talented!!! I have no ideas...... it is too bad that the new pen wasn't a little taller that she couldn't reach the top! You may have to custom make one (or have one made). |

LOL! I'm waiting for Tucker to be able to get out of his. Hubby's a contractor, maybe he could fashion me some type of lid when the time comes:confused: Sorry about your little escape artist. I had an extreme jumper, he had to be crated. Nothing else was trustworthy. We also had a poodle/ terrier mix when I was a kid that figured out how to open his wire crate with his teeth. We had to start padlocking it. SHEESH! |

Does that pen have a bottom to it? |
|
I like the looks of that pen. It took her three months before she could jump out? How old is she? |
|
The pen does not have a bottom. Holly is almost 6 months old. I ordered some fish netting to try to tie over the top of it in hopes that will contain the little bugger! |

Conner is also a jumper. He could get out of anything without a top. I bought him the biggest cage from Petco. He has a lot of room for his bed, food and toys. It has a bottom on it, so I put a fleece blanket on the floor. He has room for potty pads, but does not use them now. Now he has a lot more room to play. |

A lady from a chat that I used to be on would not buy pens but she had hubby make them. She used pvc piping and the joints that they sell to make it. Doing it that way you can totally customize how high it will be. Then you use bag ties to secure the mesh garden sidings to it. Very cheap to make and easy. I used the same stuff when my son was a little baby to make what looked like a soccer goal post for the end of the driveway where I didn't want him to go. |

they make pens as high as 48 inches tall. maybe try something taller that she can't reach the top of and maybe put a sheet or blanket over the sides so she can't get a foot hole to use to climb |

i have been looking for a way to give my baby some exercise time too. i just cant make up my mind. i want one big enough and most arent that big. hope this one will work for you. |
