Travel Crate Suggestions-- Does anyone have a suggestion on a crate I can travel with? I don't even have one here because Keeley has his own little room we keep him in when we leave. But I want to take one to my parents when I go visit. Does anyone have a portable crate? Thanks again everyone! |
I use the regular hard travel crate for Chewy. It has a handle on the top and the grate style door. |
Is the dog traveling in the cabin with you? |
I totally misunderstoon - I'm totally off today, this is the second time - When I take Chewy places with me I use a carrier from Petote.com, but I have found that it is not as tall as some others so I would look at petsmart or petco, they have sherpa ones that are a good size and you can take them on the plane. Good Luck. |
If the dog is traveling in the cabin with you i would get a carrier not a crate. Go with something soft sided so that it fits well under the seat in front of you. I have flown with my dogs quite a few times and the airlines are very nit picky about how the carrier fits under the seat. |
I am sorry, I didn't explain myself well. I already have a carrier for the airplane, I am looking for an actual crate that I can keep at my parents house for him to go in when we leave. I want one that can break down. I have seen some soft sided crates and just wondered if anyone has one or any suggestions. Thanks |
We use Maggie wire crate in our SUV, when we take overnight trips. It's like she gets to take her bedroom with her. We also have a hard sided crate, a soft side carrier and a purse carrier--not to mention the carseat and stroller. By the time we get everything loaded that she MIGHT need, I'm too tired to go. Maggie's wire crate breaks down flat. We got it at Petsmart. |
I just bought the coolest collapsible soft crate for the dogs at Target today. It's one of those big soft sided crates with screen sides and a screen zip up door but it founds down into a round circle. Like those sun reflectors for cars. You know they pop out when you open them up. It was only like $29 and when folded is the size of a round 18" pillow. I know Fosters and Smith carry some collapsible wire crates too. |
